What happened in this Grove? – Baldur's Gate 3 Early Access Playthrough – Episode 5

Welcome to the Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access Gameplay Series! In this Playthrough we will discover the first chapter of Baldur’s Gate III, the new party based roleplaying game made by Larian Studios. I will cover character creation, storyline, character progression, level-ups, loot, equipment, dialogue and many more things. Baldur’s Gate 3 is based on Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition. With the turn based combat backed up by the DnD 5E rules this game has potential to become the tactical RPG of the year as soon as it is fully released.

Gather your party, and return to the Forgotten Realms in a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power. Mysterious abilities are awakening inside you, drawn from a Mind Flayer parasite planted in your brain. Resist, and turn darkness against itself. Or embrace corruption, and become ultimate evil. From the creators of Divinity: Original Sin 2 comes a next-generation RPG, set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons.

Choose from a wide selection of D&D races and classes, or play as an origin character with a hand-crafted background. Adventure, loot, battle and romance as you journey through the Forgotten Realms and beyond. Play alone, and select your companions carefully, or as a party of up to four in multiplayer. Abducted, infected, lost. You are turning into a monster, but as the corruption inside you grows, so does your power. That power may help you to survive, but there will be a price to pay, and more than any ability, the bonds of trust that you build within your party could be your greatest strength. Caught in a conflict between devils, deities, and sinister otherworldly forces, you will determine the fate of the Forgotten Realms together.

  1. I was watching someone else play this and they accidentally stole the druid idol and had to kill most of the druids, which led to the game sequence breaking and thinking he'd done a specific thing siding with characters he hadn't even met yet.

  2. Really struggling with this game. It's hard as nails. Having your 4 people go up against 8 goblins and 2 wargs is hard enough, watching your front liners miss while being peppered by flame bombs is a little annoying. or phase spiders teleplorting to high points you can't hit but they can pick you off .
    Very unforgiving game.

  3. Not a huge fan of having basically the first "Social Antagonist" be such a blatant modern politics stand in. Kicking out refugees and building a wall (Of thorn bushes) But the rest of the game seems really good.

  4. Funny how so far you get to loot anything and everything , anywhere and everywhere , without any consequences. This is ridiculously unrealistic even for a fantasy game. There should be some lockpicking involved or a guarding presence for anything of value or use. Or what you find should be worthless or useless or partially damaged if taken from a corpse. I also must point out that the encumberment system in this game is very laughable. It looks as if every character in your groupe should be accompanied by a mule.
Another thing that strikes me is how randomly generous some NPC are in these games. Like ''Here have this item for no reason , you'll need it later on''. I guess is adds a bit of diversity to the game but this also feels so unrealistic.

  5. Yeah I must admit, I love your videos you seem to be the only one so far who has run a descent character who was neither indifferent to all or most npc's or total disregard to their violence toward almost every encounter without forethought to potential additional content, so…You have earned my highest complements good Sir, really excellent role playing. Edit: Subscribed.
