chinese, japanese and korean are good…cuz they're understand the song, but English, like lost — do not understand the song, do not understand what to sing, random…just sing whatever idkw
The same song was translated to English in the 1900s in a book called “The Chinese Mother Goose Rhymes ” under the title “Eight Bald Heads”. See Project Gutenberg. Note that “bald heads” sounds very similar to “rabbits“ in Chinese.
The top comments interpretations are likely to be incorrect because in the 1900 translation it was both the 1st bald head/rabbit who got sick and who died, so there is no love/murder story in an older version of the song.
the English version is like a Dr Seuss poem where instead of thinking up rhymes they just made up words…localization team could've done better on that one. Japanese is pretty good, but the language has a lot of syllables so it's understandable that they changed it up a bit so it would actually fit the idle animation's timing. Overall it fits with her personality and Rie Takahashi did an awesome job as Hu Tao. The Korean one is probably the most faithful to the Chinese. The meaning is basically the same although they changed up the melody.
It's rain rain go away rip-off

The English version completely took away the feel that literally all the other languages had

A loooooot less cute than the Japanese va
The Japanese for them is so much better omg I was dying when I heard the English of Hu Tao
I love the "au" at the end of the Chinese idle version, it's cute lol.
The english version is literally zero effort.
english version cringes me a bit idk
English should have just sung "Ten little Hillichurls" to the same tune as "Ten little Indians."
Poor dead hilichurl… He tried his best
The chinese Version is more like it should, at least for me. Sound much more ghostly haunted and childish them the others
I wish you could just mix the dub like for Chinese character, CN dub and for the rest, JP dub.
Japanese Version Is Better
