Alot of players give up before even trying. They see Zhongli, they will nitpick on it and say "Oh, Zhongli showcase" "Oh, Zhongli carried" "I just need Zhongli then" "Xinyan has weak shields and cannot be an alternative to Zhongli" and much more excuses. Zhongli's shields is OVERKILL, it is too durable and not necessary. Sure, it has that nice RES shred but Xinyan with Hu Tao activates Pyro resonance which gives a nice boost to DPS supports since they are typically built with Energy Recharge. I will seriously go kill myself if someone says "But Staff of Homa improved Xinyan shields!".

Zhongli is one of the best supports for Hu Tao in every possible comp. your loss if you pulled Hu Tao and don’t have Zhongli

Question for any who can answer. Would you say that Xinyan without C2 still works? I’ve been hearing that without her c2 she isn’t that great as a support.

With xingqiu any shields will work, because his DMG reduction helps more durable.

I might just stack def on two pieces of xinyan's and one atk% piece and make her a shieldbot since i haven't tested how viable xinyan shield is lol. I guess this is all the video i needed.

I don't remember the number detail but if you using both of them probably they're already reducing +60% damage taken and thus making xinyan's shield feels WAY more tanky than it should.
Maybe try not using them for non biased view on how durable xinyan's shield is (but xq is like bread and butter for ht comp so eh.. . Maybe….)

Aha, a lv 70 Xinyan? That's too unrealistic, you need to use a level 1 geo traveler to create crystallize shields while blindfolded and using a USB steering wheel and have your little brother playing for realistic performance. Don't have a little brother? Then you don't understand the true experience of an F2P player.
Great showcase Dreamy! Just a question, even though Xinyan is great for shielding isn't there the chance that her LV3 shield could steal some vaporize reactions from Hu Tao?

Love this video, I knew from the first look at Xinyan C2 that she would be amazing shielder for Hu Tao, I don´t like Diona bcoz of her healing. Meanwhile until I get Xinyan to C2 I am using Noelle C6 as shielder as she brings both her E skill and passive skill shield with explosion that makes elemental shields too. Using Hu Tao Xingque Chongyun (15%cdr+attack speed) and Noelle (would like to get C2 Xinyan to have shield most of the time).
Chongyun helps lot with Hu Tao uptime on her skill and Xingque uptime on his skill/burst too and he can both reverse melt and later let Hu Tao melt her burst. I don´t think it´s best team possible but I feel like it has really huge potential in terms of damage.

There are very interesting builds here. Hu Tao with Bolide increasing shield and give normal and charge dmg (hmm… will hod work that way…) and Xinyan with a very weird build here. Usually people build her into physical to spam her ult, but here there is "Noelle – Xinyan" build. Her shield is not very durable, and if you dont use bolide set it will not stand even a single hit (with ordinary phys build). I compared her multipliers with Noelle's shield and its actually not that bad, 14% lose with less cooldown (also 25% ATK)
Am I the only person who gives zero fucks about abyss and just run around slaying hilichurls and slimes with my 5 stars?
i'm curious but if you have the resources to farm for xinyan's gear, will you still give her 3 DEF% main stats? what artifact sets do you have in mind for her? (i'm assuming 2pc nob + 2pc witch but I may be wrong)
I don't even play her with a shielder, I rely solely on her Q and XQ's offhand heal for sustain.
Noted this is for Abyss clears, you definitely want some sustain in the overworld.

Honest review xinyan shield can't withstand too long even if you equip 3 def. In the video it's beido and xinqui negating damage for long duration. Sorry, it is what it is
Do you know what the trick is with the cryo cicin mages? They seem to just put their shield up at random and when I'm fighting them in abyss often it just goes back up instantly after I crack it, multiple times. I've only ever managed to kill them consistently by just dashing straight at them and air juggling/stun comboing them nonstop until they die. It really feels like a bug since there doesn't seem to be an animation or windup or sound cue for it.
If you don't have a favonious greatsword, could you run a whiteblind with an energy recharge timepiece?
More interested on your beidou thought. No wonder yours can still dealt up to 25k+ perfect counter, the skill is lvl 12. Guess I still need to lvl up her more to be an appropriate support.
People nitpicking just annoy me so much.
