The PlayStation 5 no doubt is leading in terms of console sales, and that’s partially because the PS5 is doing a few things a bit better than the competition. Today I discuss what I think they have going for them in terms of devices, services, and why so many people keep the PS5 in such high regard. Of course, there are a lot of great games, but let’s talk about what they’re doing that I like!

  1. Yeah, the stories from Playstation are top notch. I'm primarily an Xbox gamer, but I just replayed God of War on my PS5. It is my favorite game of all time, and it was a pleasure to play it with fairly no load times and a smooth frame rate!

  2. I am going to gloat for a while Xbox making big moves, I went through hell last generation for owning an Xbox One it was like buying a copy of Mein Kampt. So it’s time to sip my coffee and gurn relentlessly at PlayStation owners this time. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride.

  3. my issue for controllers is that the new Xbox Series X controller feels low quality. it looks low quality as well. The PS5 controller is a bit bigger, and it feels VERY nice. Oh and pushing the buttons are QUIET. On the Xbox controller the buttons click SO LOUD it is ridiculous. While playing with friends and headphones everyone can just clear clicks when moving the sticks and pushing buttons lol. its insane.

  4. PS5 is too expensive to own because of the price of new games is 60-70$ games. With price of one game in PS5, I can buy half a year access to GamePass. I think Xbox's marking in recent year has been much better than PS. I don't hear much positive about PS recently. Every day, Xbox's ecosystem gets new features and the only way for Sony to compete is to change their entire model. I want to see real competition from Sony because in two years Sony will be far behind.

  5. I haven't upgraded to the new consoles yet but I own and play both xbox one and ps4. My go to is my xbox because the value and diversity of content is massive. But sony provides the highest caliber AAA experiences that I would hate to miss out on as a gamer. Playstation is like a 5 star restaurant where each meal is going to cost you and Xbox is like a 4 star All-you-can-eat.

  6. As long as PS pumps out exclusives that people love, they'll be just fine. Even with all the major moves Xbox has been making, they're still behind the eight ball. However, I do believe the X/S will be more competitive this Gen.

  7. I just hope they add the ability to adjust the resistance in the triggers. Its great with Siege but I had to turn it off for Cold War because I feel like you have to fight to press it.

  8. Since I have both XSX and PS5, I think the one part I truly love about the PS5 is the UI. Sure like Xbox at any time you press the PS button and the UI appears but its the simplicity of accessing the parts needed. Also love the game icons that give you a game full screen….. then the store at the complete left. Again simplistic and pleasing. I appreciate the Dual-Sense controller for having much stiffer thumbticks that the DualShock but ouch the price for a new one. My biggest complaint is my PS5 on load has a slight buzzing sound. It seems to be less now but still annoying. Also, well until 2022, there are no TRUE next-generation title which is an issue for both consoles. Sure, its nice that my favourites like Destiny, The Division 2, Borderlands 3, etc have been upgraded but these certainly don't push the consoles.

  9. Sony won't have ONE exclusive Banger that can takedown: Fable, Halo Infinite, Elder Scrolls 6, Starfield, Hellblade 2 or Forza Horizon 5….And i'm just naming the ones that i know/think are coming. Sony will try to pull a Nintendo (Make a "Corner" and sit in it), because they know that they can NOT fight a Microsoft backed Xbox Game Studios….Let alone one lead by Phil Spencer. 👍 #TooLate

  10. Am I the only person who would prefer both analogue sticks at the top? Its just where my thumbs land naturally and with the elite controller having buttons on the back its perfect

  11. Didn't expect this video to be this long.🤭 That being said, I been an Xbox player since the OG in 2001. I do agree on the first party games. Playstation certainly has some that I'd love to play. My library is on the Xbox, as are my friends. Someday I'll get a PS5 (digital version). But I can't really afford to own 2 $500 consoles. I love the competition in the industry with Xbox really nailing for the gamers with GamePass. I 100% agree with you Destin, that this is great for the industry. Keep up the great vids.

  12. The main thing I hated about the play station controller has always been the sticks. I’ve had to purchase off brand offset stick controllers and it has always been a turn off to me. Always factored that in when buying a console. Also I have huge hands

  13. When xbox announced smart delivery I though "who cares, that's nothing to gloat about" Now having played Ps5 for a while I'm like "God damn, I wish this had smart delivery." I shouldn't have to google how to transfer a game save.

  14. Not a dual sense fan. It’s giving me vita flashbacks. Tons of neat tech and user interface capabilities that get used in one game and then never again. Time will tell, maybe Sony can change my mind.

  15. I like that you are compering Xbox and PS. As long as you keep it objective.
I wish Xbox would copy the capture function. Sometimes 1-2 min. is just to short.
The guide function on PS5 looks nice.
That "Xbox got no games" and "Sony marketing" is getting old tho…
You are talking about last-gen not PS5.

Sony markting have been flip-floping on this launch from "we believe in generations" to Jim"dance move"Ryan.
They were silent most of last year and last to show the hardware and price.
Games are subjektive, so even if a game is "Exclusive" doesn't mean i`ll play something I don`t like, on any platform. So better games is in the eye of the beholder.

In the "What PS5 need to do better" I got a few ideas:
The lack of internal storage expansion option for a 650Gb PS5 4 months after launch.
Cloud saves/backcompat/smart delivery on PS5 vs Xbox.
PS5 $70 Exclusive games vs Xbox $60/GamePassUltimate day and date.
    No native 1440p/120fps support.
The overpricing of hardware/software in EU.

Sorry for the rant. you did warned us in the video.

  16. I have been on playstation since 2001. I went on series x because: Elite series 2 controller is way better and you can actually compete in fps games with back triggers and it’s compatible with new games. Ps5 controller may be nice but I just won’t use a controller without back levers (I don’t know if scuf is coming out with a ps5 version but man do scuf controllers suck compared to an elite). Sony exclusives used to be cool but they are sooo derivative of one another + the last of us 2 and days gone showed that quality isn’t as guaranteed as once expected. I enjoy a story driven game from time to time but 99% of my playtime is in a online fps with friends and I am bamboozled by the lack of offering of sony online games. They tried in the ps3 generation with resistance and killzone that were nowhere near the popularity and quality of pvp juggernauts like halo and gears. Honestly the only reason I might decide to get a ps5 later on is to play with my play station friends without having to deal with pc players due to crossplay (but will only consider to do so if a quality back lever ps5 controller comes out). Having to leave behind all ps3 games is a major bummer as well, I am loving running old favorites of mine like older cods and fallout new vegas with upgrated fps on series x

  17. I don’t know about the PlayStation plus argument. Don’t get me wrong they have had some great games on there but some of them have been dated for lack of a better word. Take uncharted for example great game but most of us had played the game several times on several different platforms and we already owned the game when they made it free on PlayStation plus. Then take control or the FF7 remake. Great games I’m actually playing control on my Xbox right now but look at both of those games and I ask yourself are they the best additions of those games or will they be the best additions the latest additions of those games. In both cases the answer is no. Furthermore if you look at control and you want to compare PlayStation plus to Xbox live or any of the Xbox services Microsoft actually had control in hand for consumers before Sony did. Now let’s also be honest and admit why PlayStation plus has had some great months I’ve had some lackluster months as well I remember a truly dry. In 2019 and 2020 where I said I’ll add it to the list but I’m probably never going to play it. I think the biggest problem Sony face is now is pure competition from the competitor they are going to have to live up to the standards of others they won’t always be setting the pace they may have to keep pace with someone else.

  18. #1 Telling media and fans what they want to hear, not necessarily that it will be true.
"We believe in generations and not holding new tech back, exclusives"- but we'll release the games on PS4.
"No proprietary SSDs for expansion"- tech true, but really there are no SSDs for expansion at least for PS5 games.
"VRR" -this doesn't work yet either.
