Report: PS3, Vita, And PSP Stores To Be Permanently Closed In A Few MonthsThe PS3, PS Vita, and PlayStation Portable stores aren’t long for this world. According to a source familiar with the situation (verified by TheGamer), the stores are due to be closed down from July. The announcement is planned for the end of this month.
PSP’s and PS3’s stores are to be closed on July 2, while the PS Vita store will stay open until August 27. After those dates, you will no longer be able to purchase digital copies of games or DLC for any of the Sony consoles mentioned above.

My girlfriend bought me a Vita a couple years ago and I only bought one game for it (I was more excited to get a Switch). I also played a few demos to get some use out of it. I really wish Sony put more effort into their handheld systems.
I'm honestly not okay with these networks shutting down services, and this is why I struggled going digital for so many years. I know some console owners knock PC, but they don't have a major backwards compatibility issues like consoles do.

I played final fantasy 13 on the ps3 a lot never beat it but I played that game a lot on my ps3 and now since the Xbox is backwards compatible I decided to get final fantasy 13 for Xbox about a month ago I wish Sony would make ps4/Ps5 to make ps3 ps2 and ps1 games backwards compatible but their to lazy to do that that’s the only thing I don’t like about Sony

I think this is total horse crap and players need to demand they reverse course! I'm one who has ps vita,ps2,ps3,,ps4,ps5 used to have psp! and vita has not got a game update practically since the beginning! I think with Sony being worth multi-millions there's no excuse in our world they can say that justifies shutting down all them!
Well that's why it's now more than ever imperative that I get a PS5 before Sony pulls the plug on the PS3 store. Do you know if we'll still be able to download previously purchased games or are they gonna do away with that too? And yes, I'm still waiting for the call from EB Games or The Source here in Winnipeg Canada to pick one up. I wonder if the PS Directs are only for you guys in the States. And as for the PSP, I could never get that thing to connect to wifi so I'm not really too upset about that store going bye bye. When I owned a PSP and wanted a game, I usually had to connect it to the PS3 and get it that way.
