why does this sound like an actual argument in song form
i really love how in the first section, sky has the melody, in g major. but when its boyfriend's turn, he has it in the minor 4 chord of G, C minor. Minor 4 chords are in songs to add sadness to an otherwise happy progression, making it bittersweet. Boyfriend singing the melody in C minor is a representation of what Sky is hearing. She has this wonderful fantasy of being with boyfriend, expressed in g major, but is sad when boyfriend tries to tell her he can't date her, expressed in C minor. Such good writing!
