MinnMax’s Ben Hanson interviews John Dickerson from 60 Minutes, CBS News, former host of Face the Nation, and the Slate Political Gabfest about his latest book “The Hardest Job in the World” and what it takes to “min/max” the American presidency. Dickerson also talks about his history with video games, from working at Atari to his love for Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings. We also talk about the upcoming release of Age of Empires IV from Relic and Microsoft. Based on his descriptions, we’d love to see your feedback in the comments on what game he should check out next. Wow wow, great job getting an interview with John Dickerson, good job by Ben, and MinnMax! 🙂
This kind of curveball stuff is exactly why I'm a subscriber lol
Really cool to see this on MinnMax!
Is this some shameless anti-Trump thing?
i'm all about non-gamer interviews on minnmax
I just saw this after waking up and was convinced I was still dreaming/hallucinating. Great get!
Gotta love MinnMax goes NPR. Terry Gross watch out!
This was great! Love these on the fringes of gaming interviews. With this, house hunters and trivia tower, it is a really fine minnmax week of content.
I would suggest Slay the Spire. Build your character up with a little strategy that is easy to pickup.
Holy shit that's john Dickerson
John should play Worms if he wants to slink around
Guys…you need way more subscribers
He might want to check out xcom enemy unknown/xcom 2. You have to have situational awareness, strategize your tactics and your base building, and get to see some action without it relying on twitch skills
I would recommend Shadow Tactics for sure.
Saw the notification come up and thought, "wait, not that John Dickerson…couldn't be." Yep, definitely is. I feel like Costanza…my worlds are colliding!
He should play battle for middle earth II
This absolutely wild. Love MinnMax & Dickerson.
I absolutely love hearing him nerd out about AoE. It's too much
I love this so much, great work. My recommendation for John Dickerson is Baldurs Gate 3. It’s in early access right now but it’s turn based, strategy heavy, it’s a DnD game, and you play as a singular hero but still control a small group of heroes. It’s also co op 1-4 players. It might be best to wait for the full release but it sounds like it might be a good fit.
Such an interesting/entertaining watch. I’d recommend a family favorite: Lords of the Realm II 👍🏼
I don't really care about american politics, but this was entertaining to listen to.
About him looking for a game, maybe Rimworld, is single player and kinda hard to get into… I don't know, everytime I though of a game he would say something to negate it.
I think Divinity: Original Sin 2 would really scratch that DnD itch! Co op up to 4 people!
Incredible interview Ben! What an awesome get; so interesting to here his perspective on the presidency and games in one interview
This is bonkers. I am a huge John Dickerson fan, but NEVER expected to hear him on a videogame podcast. Two worlds collide. BOOM!
