Microsoft has been very aggressive to start the year with Game Pass constantly getting new games and even day one releases for third party games. Now it looks like we had an update for the number of people subscribed to the service showing some quick growth with the service.

  1. Done are generations. We are reaching a different era. The next 10 years are going to be pretty big steps for the community. More people than ever will be able to game, with so much in store in terms of legitimate surprises for the entire industry.

  2. The real trick to gamepass is get to 100 million+ subscribers. That's over 10 billion in revenue yearly. And once you get to that number, at least half of the users will be spending more money on gamepass than they would have in games yearly.

  3. Yeeeee I recently got a gaming laptop, I love gaming but I never thought I'd invest in such a thing, it was that or a macbook. I just loved the build quality and knew that with an ssd it would be a great replacement for my old laptop. And then it clicked. I can finally play Gears 1. I can get Nier Automata on the go. So I got gamepass and I'm loving it not even a month in

  4. The recent CBOMB issue with Sony rendering physical and digital games useless proves that you're better off with a Game Pass model in the future. You don't own the software anyway, and if it disappears, it won't matter. You can't rely on the physical media either. Physical games in version 1.0 are worthless without patches these days. If they eventually pull the plug on the servers for the old consoles and the ability to re-download updates, you're screwed.

  5. considering xbox are giving it away just to bump subscribers up, but i guarantee that many people ain’t playing it, it has no games that are interesting enough to think i cant wait to get home from work and play that, nothing like god of war, nothing like ghost of tshushima, nothing like returnal, ya got baseball and a bunch of xbox 360 games, all these stupid videos bugging up gamepass is sad and ya gotta be getting paid to do it, everyone please comment which great game ya playing, which game is a game of the year? we are in next gen remember people – wake up

  6. Nintendo needs to cycle out games on the NES and SNES online. Keep the first party games since they're free. But maybe have a deal with some third party companies for 6 months of a game. Megaman, Castlevania, contra, ninja gaiden, etc.

If they only had one game per series at a time, the other companies could still be selling their collections. Let's say megaman 4 and x2 are on the service. Someone might play a game and decide to buy the collection so they can play the others.

Plus it would be less money spent for licensing and more of a reason to have the service. The rotating game selection of gamepass is a reason to keep it long term. There's also a constant excitement around what's coming next.

  7. Why would Microsoft need 100M subscribers in order for game pass to be sustainable? At 15$ per month, 20 million subscribers are bringing home $300M per month! They’re totally fine already.

  8. Friggin love game pass. That’s how the gaming subscription service supposed to work. The PS Now and NSO look just bad compared to what MS is offering. Tying it to their consoles for zero upfront cost was also a brilliant move.
