  1. Notes from the Game:

+ Ian Anderson was SIMPLY BRILLIANT. 7 SHUTDOWN INNINGS, giving up JUST 1 HIT AND 1 WALK WHILE STRIKING OUT 8. He improves to 2-0 with an ERA of 2.48. He is making the Case for the NL Cy Young EARLY!

+ The Bullpen? ABSOLUTELY SHARP TONIGHT. A.J. Minter With a FLAWLESS 8TH INNING, And Jacob Webb STRUCK OUT THE SIDE TO CLOSE THE GAME, DESPITE giving up just 1 Hit.

    + ROTATION TOTAL: 9 Innings, 0 Runs, 2 Hits, 1 Walk, 13 Confirmed Ks.

+ The Braves Offense Came Alive when it Mattered! Here's some of the Highlights:

+ Ronald Acuna Jr. CONTINUES TO MAKE HIS CASE FOR MVP! 1-4 with A MAJESTIC, GO-AHEAD SOLO SUPER MISSILE THAT TRAVELED 481 FEET WHILE LEAVING THE BAT AT 112 MPH! Through 21 Games, Acuna Stands in with an INCREDIBLE .355 AVERAGE, 1.233 OPS, AND 8 HOME RUNS ON THE SEASON!

+ THE OZ-MAN IS IN THE GROOVE! 2-4 with 2 DOUBLES AND AN RBI. Ozzie holds onto a .187 Average and .676 OPS through 21 Games!

+ HOW ABOUT DANSBY SWANSON TONIGHT? 3-4 with 3 SINGLES AND AN RBI. Through 23 Games, Dans holds onto a .214 Average and .640 OPS. Pretty Good!

+ EVEN THE KUNG FU PANDA GOT IN ON THE ACTION TONIGHT! A PINCH-HIT RBI SINGLE IN HIS ONLY AB! Through 17 Games, Sandoval stands in with an IMPRESIVE .333 Average and 1.288 OPS!

+ M-V-FREE ALSO CONTRIBUTED TONIGHT! 1-4 With a Single and 2 WALKS, One of which led to an RBI. Freeman may be off to a slow start with a .213 Average, but his OPS at .832 Speaks Volumes.

+ OTHER NOTABLES: Marcell Ozuna and Austin Riley BOTH had 1 Hit, while Heredia and Anderson Both Struck out 3 Times. Not too concerned with Both of them though.

+ Braves Fans were treated to a TEXTBOOK CHOPPING SHOW TONIGHT. The Pitching was SHARP, The Offense was VIGOROUS, And the Fielding was ON-POINT. Cannot ask for a more STRAIGHTFORWARD VICTORY THAN THIS!

+ Even Better? ALL other NL East Teams (Mets, Phillies, Marlins, AND Nationals) ALL LOST TONIGHT. That Puts Atlanta in a TIE for 2ND PLACE in the NL East Division with the Philladelphia Phillies, with Miami at 1 1/2 Games Back and Washington at 2. The Mets Lead in the NL East is at a FRAGILE 1/2 GAME.

    Tomorrow:

ROUND 3 of this 4-Game Showdown between the Cubs and Braves will take place under the lights of Truist Park. Kyle Hendricks will take the rubber for the Cubbies, who looks to build on a Successful outing against the Brewers, in which he earned the Win, giving up only 2 Runs on 6 Hits over 6 Innings. Meanwhile, Huascar Ynoa will take up Battle Stations for the Bravos, as he looks to build on a FANTASTIC Outing against Arizona, in which he Not only earned the Win, pitching 6 Strong Innings and giving up just 2 Runs on 2 Hits, He also went 2-2 at the plate with a Single and RBI Double! Can Ynoa Guide the Braves to their 3rd Win a Row, or Will Hendricks and the Cubs slam the brakes and take a game at Truist Park? We will find out at 7:20 PM EDT / 6:20 PM CDT on Marquee Sports Network (Cubs), Bally Sports South (Braves), AND FOX SPORTS 1 (International)!

  3. Wow. Wow, wow, wow. That was an absolute gem, guys. I think I gotta take a page out of SoundFX09's book and write down some notes on what I thought.
•Ian Anderson. That man is what you call "elite". 7 innings of 1-hit ball is incredible for any pitcher, let alone for a 22 (soon to be 23) year old, with less than 20 starts under his belt.
•Ronald Acuña Jr., welcome back! I see you didn't really miss a beat today, way to break up the scoreless tie. (with an absolute missile, no less.) I thought we were having a pitchers' duel for sure.
•Freddie Freeman. Didn't too too much with the bat, but the baserunning, the heads-up play to sprint to first, and drawing that walk were very, very nice, even if they won't be looked at too much.
•See what happens with our bullpen when we keep Luke Jackson out of the game? Yeah.
•T2nd in the NL East at the moment, so not too bad. I'm pretty sure with how bad the Mets' offense is, they're gonna falter, so as long as we don't do anything dumb ourselves, we should be on our way to another NL East title.
•Probably should mention Ozzie Albies, too. 2 doubles is pretty solid, albeit hitting a measly .187 so far.
    •🐼🐐
•Overall, great game, I'm happy with how we played, and I wish the Cubs the best of luck for the back half of the series. Chop on. -Happy Braves fan
