  1. This happens a lot to me, and my theory is as such:
Commitment breeds obligation, and obligation breeds disdain.

This is not how hobbies should look. This is why I haven't picked up team sports again, because "have to be there at 9.30pm to be there and we need you to make the team", I loved the sport but didn't love the commitment. Some weeks I'd be tired and didn't want to go.

I had to cut back some of my commitments to find my equalibrium again. It's a shame how you find this same spot but you're not alone!

  2. Sounds like you’re having some burn-outs and skewed bias nowadays with games. When you’re getting critical with game design, you tend to be more sensitive to it and notice stuffs more. I’ve been there, and what happened I left games that I shouldn’t have left and just not enjoying games the way I should be enjoying it.

The thing that break the straw for me was when I started comparing games to other games that has no business being compared together, that was when I realized what I was doing was probably the wrong way to enjoy this game (note: I’m not even a reviewer, just a gamer like everyone else). It’s crazy, and I had to take a load off for a while before retrying these games.

If you need rest, take it. If you need a try a different direction to try new stuffs, do it. We’re still gonna be here, don’t worry, buddy.

  3. Doing reviews is something that requires a lot of effort man, I comprehend you. If you don't enjoy it don't do it, you have enough obligations in your life to add another one which you maybe don't need in the first place. I mean you seem to have a better time at twitch, I would keep doing streams there for now. I remember that when I was 16-17 I entered a competition of video reviews made by some popular youtubers from the latin community. I decided to make a video about the Godfather III, which I think still nobody has reviewed on the platform, it had to be 10 minutes long but still I watched the movie 2-3 times, and the other ones too; I wrote the script, record my voice, edited the video, etc. It's really exhausting, and at the end of the day it's the type of content you can get more backlash on. So take it easy, do it only when you feel like it!
