Today’s discussion topic focuses on champions released since season 5 or so that have never been able to see mainstream success, or in some cases have been made so irrelevant that no one ever plays them. We’re gonna be figuring out if these releases were considered failures in League of Legends.

"Pantheon is the chadest chad that ever chadded" now that makes my day
Does anyone know the song in the background of this video? It's kind of a bop.
Just wanna say Taric is on the climb, You can solo big bruisers like morde (even in his ult)
Id love to play kindred more because they have my favorite lore in the game
But I'm not a very good jg and without teammates to help secure marks she's basically worthless. So I really feel the whole….team reliant champions things
Honestly I always enjoyed playing kled, but the higher u go with rank the more likely it is that u'll face someone that knows how to punish you, I also like to pick Aurelion but the games that you need to play to understand his skill set seems like too much work for me to main him especially because it doesn't seem like rewarding enough.
Alternate title: all WNOP summarized in one video
tahm kench's issue lied in the fact that he wasnt sufficient though?
all his attacks were single target and were locked behind conditions, which was why he was very good in lane, but was horrendous in teamfights
Vars I really watch every single video of yours just to tell you how wrong you are and how angry you make me. Most everything that you said that was shared between sol and illaoi basically does apply to champs like kat and doesn’t apply to kled (it applies far more to his w than his passive and it doesn’t really apply to that at all either, if it applies to kled then it applies to malzahar and god only knows who else). The real reason asol is unpopular is because the payoff for actually landing stars is underwhelming (unlike a Kat dagger). It feels like you have to put in too much effort to get a mediocre result. Speaking of mediocre results idk how or if you calculated asols theoretical dps, but in practice, in a fight, you are never outputting anything close to champs like cass and orianna never mind champs like velkoz. I don’t think asol is particularly good right now, but when he has been actually good, it has been almost entirely due to his e (I guess his old w was a little different as well). Basically he is too much effort but he isn’t even flashy or bursty nor is he particularly strong. I also wouldn’t even call him a failure (although I think they should revert his w), he is very unique and the few people that actually enjoy him do enjoy him and get a reasonable reward for the hours they commit to learning him. Should he be a big star dragon and the canonical most powerful champion in the lore? That’s sort of a separate debate but that’s one of the main reasons he is singled out as being ‘bad’. If he was some kind of marae shaman and he used bubbles I’d bet that this video wouldn’t even have gotten made and he would just be accepted as a niche champion by the community.
For team-dependent champions like Rell and Lillia (my favorite main), I feel really sorry for them of having a kit that plays high emphasis on interaction with teammates, because that’s what made them unique. It’s just a shame where they are in an environment where almost every single champion are self-sufficient. Whatever you say that players can’t trust with each other and has to selfish all the time, to me, this goes against the rules of a MOBA game. Self-sufficiency should NEVER be the main aspect of the genre and you NEED to rely on your teammates. MOBAs should teach on how to coordinate with your teammates and work together so that they not only increase their odds at winning, but also rewarding them for trusting and looking up to each other. But right now, without any voice-comms, this creates in one of the most toxic environments where it only requires one team-member to decide the game. This is you being selfish, and being selfish is not a good thing. And you know why it must not be just a selfish-oriented game all the time? Because it’s a MOBA game. I repeat, A, M-O-B-A GAME! A genre that requires teammates to win! Not a 1v1 fighting game! Not a 1v5 hack and slash game! Not an even Solo adventure game! ITS A GODDAMN MOBA GAME!!!
why dont they make so each point on his w adds a star on his passive , he would start with 2 and then get up to 4 or something like that
I main Neeko just becuase i like her but it is true that even when you’re fed you doesn’t do too much of a thing, even damage or follow up, i think that even a supp like bard fed you do far more things and with meeps a good amount of damage
Taric would have been a valuable topic multiple times in the video
why was he excluded?
Taric and Braum
I think an easy way to fix aurelion sol is just to buff his E making it his ult, and nerf his R making it a basic ability, may need to then do some adjustments to Q but R Q is basicly the same as syndras Q E.
Sol is still Hella good, I have a friend that gets around 20/9/19 win or fail
every champ released after thresh is completly overtuned . champs with shitloads of mobility require 0 skill due to having a million get out of jail free cards.. change my mind
M7 neeko here, I love my lesbian lizard but she is hard to play in solo q bc teammates sometimes just have no clue how to help capitalize. I played neeko as a supp before I took her to mid and thats where I found the most success (as supp). With 2 enemies her e is more useful and she is great with ganks, for or against, as she can root, has a decent aoe, and her w can be a great way to distract and escape. Neekos only problem is her lack of mobility but at the same time that's good bc a dash wouldn't fit with her character and it forces you to actually land and capitalize on your e to get a good solid ult.
Anyone saw Graves just autoing a Full HP Zed for his whole HP at 2:38????? ._.
wtf is this yorick bullshit. i see him every game nowadays
I wonder what Vars mains
YOU DIDNT JUST DO MY BOI ASOL LIKE THAT MY MAN >:(
Can someone tell me what Vars YouTube channel is about? I don't know why but I feel drawn to the channels profile picture
Is it all League of Legends based or other content as well
I belive asol and illaois problems are also how league usually likes to design easy to pick up and hard to master champions but these 2 are hard to pick up and hard to master since their "uncontrollabunlesness"
i have been playing kench since i started playing in 2017. i DO play him because he is a fat catfish demon.
Rell could’ve been one of their best, instead I forgot she existed
I used to love a sol with the old items. The glp slow item gave him such good stats and then when glacial augment came out it just made him better.
Rell suffers from a few issues in that she's a support and a tank, two of the least popular classes and tanks are on the weaker side. But she's also one of the very few champs to actually have apparent trade offs/weakneess in recent times. Barely any recent champ doesn't try to have the whole cake and eat it too. Rell has strong strengths but isn't afraid to show vulnerability, not to mention she has a higher skill floor too, and thats a breath of fresh air. Being called the int-horse probably doesn't help tho. One point of contention that could be made is that she simply plays like many other support vanguards tho…dive in on a target with a CC dash and unload ur CC kit. I hope they explore different vanguard kit playstayles going forward
Not entirely relevant to the video but, I like how he says "Samira"
Not being popular shouldnt be consider failure
I preferred old Yorick.
No every champion is amazing in some way. Shame that most people only look at how viable champions are these days. Every champ has a story, character, beauty…why noone sees that?
