The easiest way to win the fight is to throw it. 1 second and I finished it with more eddies. No honor but I treated myself to a joy toy later.
This boxing match is too ridiculous and tedious if fighting fairly, I don't feel bad cheating like this.
You can do it with a katana, but like someone said make sure your inventory is full before picking up the dropped weapon.
Lol U can either use Tinker bell (a chance for ur weapon to knock the enemy with a strong attack) or Satori (a samurai sword with 600% crit dmg). I couldn't progress when I knock him with my tinker bell. So I 4 hit him with Satori. Still work after patch 1.05 on ps4. Just make sure u equip it and not pick it up.
if you really want to beat him, save some eddies, get a second heart. then go to the nearest melee weapon vendor (right around the corner from the fight place) and get the legendary hammer. upgrade it with a few things of your choice. fight takes 5 secs, he doesn't have time to breathe.
Lmfao i put a gun down and just tried to shoot him instead. Didnt work but fuck this guy . Level of unfairness is mike tysons punch out tier
The easiest way is put the game in easy mode. And even then is not so easy. I use a netrunner build, so this was not fun at all.

i used copper head melee weapon (get it from Judy's quest line) it poisoned, stunned, and burned him to the point where he could not heal and the fight was over in a couple min
you can use ANY weapon to do this lethal, non lethal a gun it doesn't matter lol
block and three swipes, just like the good old days of boss battles
And I beat him through sheer determination and will🤕😂

I really like the game, but these fights are just badly programmed. You can see that the AI really isn't fit for melee. So they just made every fight a 1-2 strike knockout. its just very bad.
You can use a lethal blade to do this too. I’ve spec into the bleed skills in the blade tree and let that finish him.
this fight is still actually tough with a melee weapon lmao
1598 armor and 779 health and he 2 shots me. This shit needs a fix ASAP
Just saying this for anyone saying it isnt working it is its not patched i have updated my game and i did this literally 2 mins ago although the fights still a pain in the ass i have all his moves perfectly choreographed but its buggy as hell

This match is not possible to play on xbox one the Opponent always bugs out of the ring then i cant hit him and then he random comes back and punshes me plus sometimes he is stuck in the ring…. fcking bs

Possible minor spoiler way to do it.
Just do a quick run of the story you get legendary gorilla arms from it. Stand in a corner and let him super man punch you, block. Hit him in the gut 3 times. Rinse and repeat.

Even with melee weapons this fight is extremely hard and to be completely honest i had better results using power attack (they stun opponents) with fists cybernetick and dodges. At least until I changed difficulty to easy cause I completely forgot that I was play on hard 😛 LOL
When I parry it does the counter but still take the damage

This is easy for a dark souls veteran like myself
If the bug still exists get him on the ropes at the corner and hit him with heavy attacks. Hell only taunt you. Cheesing it cause the damn fights are always 1-2 hit and over which is cheesy itself.
It’s like all hard bosses heal up once there’re so close to being dead💀🙄

I took him down with my gorila fist build. He is easy to read. But I got years of fighting game experince behind me as well.
I just took the tinker bell, knocked him out and beat the shit out of him😂
for anyone saying its not working, make sure you have all 3 weapons equipped in your inventory
Easy way to beat him. When he’s a certain distance away (basically from across the ring), he always goes for this leaping punch. You just have to counter it by defending right before the hit lands. Then get a solid combo in. The timing takes a few tries to perfect but after you do it’s rather easy. As soon as your window of opportunity passes, run to the other side of the ring and do it again.
