Love mine. Wrc 9 is finally 60fps and plays great on it. Dirt rally 2.0 no longer has screen tearing on night and rain stages etc. Wicked console

The hot chimney sounds familiar. Own both the series x and the playstation 5. The series x is the quit one of the 2, but the ps5 stays a lot cooler. Both great systems
Nice one @Team VVV great to hear WRC9 is great on Series X. Hope to be able to pick one up or a PS5 sometime soon to play that one. Unimpressed by Dirt 5. Game looks rushed and unfinished to me. Have you also tried for instance the excellent WRC7 and how that plays on the Series X?

Hope the controller lasts longer than the dualsense, myself and a lot of other people have had springs snap in the triggers already so I've had to fork out another £55 already for a new controller
I had a look at a list of the upcoming games and there is nothing there that would make me put 500 pounds on the counter for this machine. The Series X is basically an upscaling machine. The best console Microsoft made is the Original Xbox. It has the best game library and you can make your own game soundtracks. It's so good I've packed away my Xbox 360. 4K doesn't mean anything if the games are rubbish and buggy and half of the hard drive has day 1 patches on it. For me, That is not console gaming. That's sub-standard PC gaming so why buy a Next Gen console???
I'm curious to see Outrun 2 from the original XBox, If the graphics hold up on new gen console, Sega could easily sell it as new game today.

It is great BC console especially if someone who is into Xbox and QR is awesome feature.
Allan, my Series X disk drive is dead silent, identical to what my One X sounded like. I would say it's most probably a manufacturing variance in yours, it should not be any louder than any previous Xbox. Once the stock situation gets better, I would return it in exchange for a new one.
People complained that it was focused too much on things other than gaming… There you have it.

The disc drive is mainly for games.

I do miss the optical audio, and watching TV through snap though, but I get why they did it.
Wrc 9 on PC is not Next gen Graphics? Is that the same on Ultra Settings? PC Next Gen euqivalent settings? I run WRC 9 on High up to 120fps (WQHD) with my 1080ti or Ultra at 60fps (no stutters).
I like the Series X. I think if you're not into PCs (or don't have the budget), want something under the TV and love the Microsoft exclusives, you'll enjoy it. But if you do have a PC, I don't see enough of an incentive to buy it. Contrast that to PS5 where it too runs WRC 9 in a buttery smooth fashion but also adds something different with it's controller, new UI and larger exclusives catalogue (and the Switch too, lots to like on that and some unique features) I find it hard to justify a purchase.
