  1. You know how else you “steal a stolen Athena?” You touch the Athena after a member of each of two other crews in your 3-ship alliance touch it. Not that special in the Sea of Thieves: where the real treasure is friendship.

  2. I recently got a friend of mine into this game. He is yet to encounter the kraken, and we sailed around forever to wait for it to happen. But Karen never came.

Later that day I sailed with my more experienced friends, we had stolen an Athena and were on our way to plunder when the water turned black…

  3. In the beginning, there was only Cube.

And Cube sang the universe into existence and saw, that it was good.

    But Cube was lonely.

So Cube made creatures to torture.

    First he made fish.

    Lowliest of all creatures.

A creature so uncaring that it would eat its own mother if hungry.

    Then Cube made Shark.

But Shark would swallow Fish whole without any suffering.

    So Cube made Seal.

Shark would rip off chunks of Seal and leave bloody waters, and Cube saw that it was good.

But Seal did not understand its suffering so once again Cube became lonely.

So Cube made the most evil and intelligent of all creatures.

And of all his creations, most fun to torture of all the creatures was Man.

For man would torture each other.

Unlike Fish, man understood when he caused pain.

And man was much more petty than Fish.

Fish would kill only to eat, but Man would kill for greed, or even worse, entertainment.

Cube gave Man ships and cannons to terrorise the seas with.

Man gave more insidious and evil purposes to these tools than even Cube could ever have imagined.

Man caused suffering to his fellows over and over again.

And each time they would die, Cube would give them new life, and even a new ship with supplies if they so needed it to continue their crusade of suffering.

    Some would give up.

Some would never return to this world.

But the hearty few would keep taking the Curse of Cube and turn it into their blessing.

They would make a living of this suffering.

They would thrive as others made the seas salty with their own tears.

Those few pirates are known as streamers.

And Cube saw that it was good.
