Luke Smith is Bad for Destiny 2

Luke Smith has been bad for Destiny 2. He has been responsible for many bad decisions related to the game and cannot seem to stick with a consistent vision of the game. Destiny 2 is suffering because of him and I strongly believe the game would be better off without him directing the game. In order for Destiny 2 to evolve and better itself Luke Smith needs to go.

  1. Wow, I'm early this time. The sad fact is that there is no reason to buy or play destiny right now. Bungie wants to delete the game basically. Even the supers we bought a year ago are about to be cut. Vendors are useless now (aside for bounties), Eververse is distracting from content, and the only thing that is keeping me and a lot of other players playing destiny (Crucible) is getting shafted. Bungie! You had a great start on a system. Destiny 1 was great because it actually worked! Destiny 2 sucks because it doesn't. Literally all you had to do in these past 4 freaking years is ctrl + c. Pugular, you're right. And I hate that you're right. I love this game, but Luke has absolutely no idea what destiny is or could be, because Destiny 2, this ain't it.

  2. This is kind of like Cyberpunks situation. The game was rushed and released for the holiday season due to the higher ups and management, leading to a shitty bugged launch even though the story and game is actually fun if it wasn’t so broken on release.

Then there’s Luke Smith and other higher ups that make all these decisions. There was a point people made that the more content they have, the harder it is to manage and make things work. Bruh who gets rid of a ton of locations, strikes, raids, PvP maps and doesn’t replace it?

Who sunsets weapons and gear only to make them earnable again? If I have a god roll weapon, why do I have to go get that weapon again?? I will agree to sunsetting weapons like mountaintop and recluse but they should replace them with weapons equally as fun to use.

It’s just shitty decision after shitty decision. Get rid of Luke Smith and other higher ups making decisions like this.

  3. I could only watch this bs all the way through half of it. Don't get me wrong, Luke Smith is taking the game the wrong direction, but still you're pretty much blaming him for cancer here.
The game is fine, I loved Beyond Light and I'm excited for what's to come… I think Destiny could benefit from another Game Director but it's not like it's gonna fix everything.

  4. I been saying Luke Smith was terrible for the game. He's literally one of the main reason why it has the issues it does. Luke definitely only lives in Luke Smith fantasy land and will force us to all live in it.

  5. Kinda surprised to see so many dislikes. Most of us want to kick Smith’s ass. I guess even gaming bureaucrats have friends, not many.
It feels like that guy has tried too hard to change Destiny after Activision left. I don’t think he’s a Destiny fan. Changing so much for the worse is probably part of an agenda to replace the franchise with his own game plan.

  6. I like Luke Smith as a person, not so much as a director. I don’t think he’s as bad as most say he is. However, I feel like he brings extreme mediocrity to a game with unlimited potential for greatness.

  7. 3:50 Uh no, Season of the Dawn followed Season of the Undying, which was stated in game and to do with the overall Vex plot with then always trying to change history. Also what was the mission in D1 where we went back into the Vault of Glass, I forgot what it was for, I think something to do with the Taken King, and possibly when we first find out about Quria maybe? Season of the Worthy was followed by Season of Arrivals, which was foreshadowed by many events before hand, like Destiny 2 Red War Campaign with the eagle flying cutscene, Drifter Season Cutscene where his tag that he flips had the Pyramid, etc. Forsaken was a follow up to Taken King, and Rise of Iron was meant to be later on, with Season of the Worthy, and other Rasputin story stuff, and also Exodus Black was meant to be involved in the SIVA story. So that is probably what caused quite a few inconsistencies. But overall there is a story that goes from one thing to the next. You say it's bad to go from one big bad guy to the next, but that is pretty much what every game does… like every game with a campaign has heaps of mini bosses, or minor bosses, and then one major boss. The story was never the problem, it's well established.
The only problem is stuff like sunsetting armor, weapons I understand, to keep the meta from being stagnant and the same guns forever and ever (FUCKING BORIIIIIIIIIING, if you want that, go play COD). But armor, there is really no point in sunsetting armor unless the next lot you get is guaranteed to drop with more stats, like say you have base 66 overall on one armor piece, the next pinnacle armor piece should drop with like 68 or 70, or more as you go up. And so on. To me that is how leveling should be, pinnacle armor should give us the ability to max out more then 2 stats at least.

But yeah D1 story wise and gameplay wise, it was only messy because of the early development being so rough, with 3 resets on the game from Reach's release, to Destiny's "open" Beta drop. Without that, we probably would have seen the original Destiny.

  8. I'm gonna say some major facts. Stassis on the titan is just a shittier version of striker. THE only thing good about it is the slide. I said what I said and I agree with this video 10000000000000% Luke needs to go!

  9. I didn't realize the effect on new lights untill I played on pc where I didn't have the dlcs and saw how much the gameplay was ripped out not only that but pvp side of destiny is a joke at this point and isn't even respected anymore along with a hudge drop on content you are completely right this man has taken a game well known and ruined it by having most players play and still hate the game.

  10. I don’t know who Luke smith is since I just started playing this game last week. I’m having a lot of fun and videos like this make me nervous about the future of the game

  11. Destiny 1 just had something that Destiny 2 doesn’t have (as well as many clear things I could mention) but Luke Smith is forcing the game in a direction that will never bring us back to those bright moments.

  12. Honestly… We said Bungie didn't need Activision but here we are… 2 years later… And we've just been told that since they don't have Activision's resources we won't get another Forsaken sized expansion.

I'm open to new management but I'm keeping this thought in mind.

  13. I didn't even have to watch the video (I did) to comment: I agree with you. Everything you said is true.

Lemme explain in a more finer details:
Main problem where everything came from is Pinnacle weapons (overpowered Mtop and Recluse).
As much as Bungie tried to give us alternatives or nerf them, we were using them. And for this I blame them. They didn't make me not to use Mtop and Recluse. From those weapons sunsetting idea (which I despire from bottom of my heart) was born.
Not direcly connected but hey. We lost 4 planets and 2/3 of the game.
What's left? Yeah, sure. Nessus, TS, DC, Moon, Europa…
With literally WHOLE CONTENT FROM SHADOWKEEP AND FORSAKEN being useless because you can't level them.

    So I ask Mr. Smith:
Give me one good reason to play Blind Well again.
Give me one good reason to play Dreaming City's Weekly Missions.
Give me one good reason to play Dreaming City's Ascendant missions.
Give me one good reason to play Shattered Throne.
Give me one good reason to play Altars of Sorrow.
Give me one good reason to play Pit of Heresy
(There actually is one. Dismantling final gear gives you 6 shards and cores)

Do you UNDERSTAND what have you done?
Like yeah. Sure. You left us generously with some locations. But for what goal? Weapons. Armor. All useless. And before anyone says: crucible, etc… Whatever. I don't play crucible.

However, Activision is not with Bungie anymore. Handling game as big as D2 was before BL solo is a challenge. And here I can understand them. However, what they did about that: deleting 2/3 of content is lack of respect towards very people who buy your games and play your content. If there weren't for us you'd be unemployed…. You know that?

So go ahead. Vault. Delete eveything. I guess that after Lightfall there will be no Destiny 2 anymore. Because you killed it.

  14. When did they said the old content is getting deleted man? Are you using that bs word that has been debunked about the old content being delete because it's not, it's in the vault.
