Description:
Here it is, what I consider to be my last hurrah for FNF music. Mostly I mean that this is the last FNF song I intend on making purely for leisure, from now on it’s finishing out my work for mods and then moving on from Friday Night Funkin’ as a whole, at least for a while. Gamebreaker is by far my FAVORITE FNF song, so I wanted to try putting my spin on it! This version is inspired both by Saster’s official remake of the song, and the scrapped NayuKhrome mix. Special shoutouts to River for both singing the short lyrical section, as well as drawing the DX art used in the thumbnail and the visualizer! I know this isn’t a perfect song, but for what it is, I’m content. I hope you’ll enjoy it as well.

Friday Night Funkin’ (stylized as FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN’ and often abbreviated to FNF) is an open-source donationware rhythm game first released in 2020 for a game jam. The game was developed by a team of four Newgrounds users, Cameron “ninjamuffin99” Taylor, David “PhantomArcade” Brown, Isaac “Kawai Sprite” Garcia, and evilsk8r. The game shares some gameplay features with Dance Dance Revolution and PaRappa the Rapper and borrows aesthetic influences from Flash games. The game has been credited with driving users back to Newgrounds, a site whose popularity peaked in the early 2000s.
The game mainly revolves around the player character, Boyfriend, who must defeat a variety of characters in singing and rapping contests in order to continue dating his love interest, Girlfriend. Gameplay revolves around hitting notes with timed inputs while avoiding running out of health for the duration of the song.

  9. what’s funny is during premiere my YouTube broke so I didnt get to actually listen to it during premiere was pretty funny tho having my premierebreak (but yeah that explains my random comments during the song as I had no idea what was going on) listening now I can say is banger!! and peak!

  16. Gotta be one of my favorite takes on the song. Especially how it uses rock (i like rock a lot im sorry.) I like how it feels this one is a more Adventure/Modern version of the song, with the OG (scrapped and V2) and most other remixes being a classic version. The lyrics were also a welcome surprise. Great job on the song to everyone involved!

  21. It does its job of being a remix, but I think its trying too hard to be better than the original. Don't get me wrong its a fine remix, and I do like it, it just feels like its throwing a lot of stuff that could've been excluded, at your face.

  22. Sadly missed the premiere but after coming back and listening this ( a few times over again) this song is up there with the peak of the peak. Amazing work Simply. A fantastic sendoff for ur work with making FNF songs. A curious question, would u ever consider releasing the instrumentals for rhe songs u made. Like the shiny remixes, this and prey good future? 😊

  30. the one thing i slightly dislike about this version is that the instrumental leans more towards rock than what it used to be, which by all means is fine. it still sounds really good
    i just prefer the old instrumental slightly more, but this one still sounds just as good! i really like pico's voice when he started speaking. congrats on the two of you finally getting this out, you both deserve a break

  34. Wow every song to make is incredible, I love this take! Way more intense and also 1:57 DAMN wasn't expecting that but that was cool, River did a sick job on the voice. Keep up the good stuff Crispy, anything you make is incredible.

  41. THIS WAS AMAZING, I don’t like gambreaker, felt like it was overrated but after this.. WOW! This was AMAZING! Saster and SimplyCrispy collaboration is something I thought I’d only see in my dreams but here we are! FANTASTIC JOB ANS THE ART MAKES THIS SO MUCH MORE BETTER✨
