even on retail I've been taking templars over exo sen in pvp, people just die way to fast. I wish zeal didn't suck like if it was an extra auto or the damage scaled it would be great, cause 50 damage is meeh and the 30% attack speed doesn't help much, it does in pve but not pvp.
Tbh I called it, it was only a matter of time with the insane conduit buffs, the burst is ridiculous so it’s obvious. I just pray that they don’t nerf ret hard and not compensate it man 🙁

I don't want to see classes nerfed, I'd rather go with the Mists of Pandaria approach; BUFF EVERYTHING!
Because simply, following Syndrome-ian philosophy from Pixar's Incredibles(lol), "If everyone's super, no one will be".
If I was in charge of class development, I'd reinstate the Warlords of Draenor version of Retribution paladin.
But Ret pala is overpowered in Shadowlands because of the sheer amount of burst that they can deliver PAIRED(this is important) with the insane survival and strong defensives.
So it doesn't matter if you rely on Wings to get a kill, because you cannot die due to Word of Glory healing you for 80% of your HP every 3 Holy Power you generate.
Just slam with Wings, Trinket, ES. If the target doesn't flop, doesn't matter because you can't die outside of dampening with the Word of Glory "spam".
Just survive for 2 minutes and go again.
Edit: However, IF Word of Glory is nerfed / scaled properly, so it's not acting as what is essentially a Lay on Hands without a 10 minute cooldown, then Ret pala might become a meme again.
Is it fair that Ret's burst and self-healing be nerfed and not compensated for its weaknesses? No, of course not. But blame Blizzard for shitty class design, which we've had 2 expansions of.
Passing the "Overpowered" status around the classes like a joint at a house-party is not how balance is achieved. It just makes everyone salty and angry when their class isn't good enough,
but someone else's is overpowered.
But ret can't be this unkillable nuclear bomb; nor should any other class. We saw that in BFA with DH and Destro Warlock; it was cancer.
