  1. It's a better apology than what most companies put out there, but there are things they don't address and, at the end of the day, actions will speak louder than words.

  2. The fact he says they are proud of what they delivered on PC and the only issues with the game are on console is fucking ridiculous and sad. I refuse to believe anyone feels proud of this half ass shit job and piss poor optimization. Not to mention even if it was big free there is so much useless jank with the game its ridiculous, AI being garbage for once.

  3. I would very much like to know the amount of content and mechanics that were cut from this game. I believe they cut several main quest missions and maybe a dozen side quests as well as cut at least a handful of game mechanics. This is all on top of everything they cut from the open world. The entire city amounts to nothing more than window dressing. What a waste. If I was a dev working on this game for the past 8 years I would be so angry I don't know what I'd do….I really hope one day a brave developer steps forward and tells us the whole story. Now that would be PUNK!

  4. I like how they said they are proud of the EPIC PC release, aside from the bugs they dodged the cut contents, soft lock and everything wrong with the game,
Really if they only wanted character interaction and immersive story, they should have made a movie or focused on the Anime series, NOT a game

  5. Let's spend our cash on musicians, movie actor and a few voice actors because truly they're the ones who knows more about video games than any gaming nerds in the world. Oh to top it all, let's release the game with barely any content or anything we stated in the beginning. Big brain move

  6. I accept their apology, but I don't trust them. They knew what they were doing. The aggressive marketing, the hiding of real footage, controlled review footage, the constant delays, the hyperbolic promises, the inside work culture…

They weren't transparent in their development. The game isn't even an RPG. Such a far cry from what was initially advertised. Thankfully, I cancelled my pre-order after I heard that and was skeptical about reviews being heavily controlled.

  7. CDPR knew the state of the game upon release but a part of me says they think they were gonna get away with it anyway so they went ahead and released it. They just probably didnt expect that this shitty move has escalated so badly. They thought it was just gonna be like No Man Sky at release. They didnt expect lawsuits and government involvement. Welp thats what they get 🤷‍♂️

  8. Yongyea, you wouldn't happen to be an ass-man, by chance? Because it seems like every positive reception is always followed with a "but…". It really is no wonder that AAA game development just keeps re-hashing and tossing out repetitive garbage year in and year out.

If you guys want to dogpile CDPR, by all means. Just know you're dicking over one of the VERY few studios that actually produce decent games that are mindful of gamers. Also, note you're not factoring in even a scrap of what it means to be a business:

1). Investors. Y'know, those guys with lots of money? If we're going to speculate on the nefariousness of CDPR's leaders, it seems more than fair to speculate on how much pressure they were under by money daddy. The game was already delayed by 3/4ths of a year(8 months) and it's not a stretch of the imagination to know how hard investors were hounding them. After all, they don't see much in the way of a return on their investment until the game's actually released.

2). COVID. Cyberpunk 2077 is a massive undertaking, it's (again)not rehashed garbage on the same 6+ year-old engine like what you'd get with almost every other AAA title. It's not as simple as just a shiny new game, they built a new engine to run it. I can tell you as someone who's own business has been impacted by the pandemic: It ain't as simple as quitting your job, sitting at home and asking gov-daddy for an allowance.

3). No one besides console players, actually give a shit about console players. I built a budget PC at the end of 2019 and it runs the game fine outside of 2 weird physics hiccups in about 17 hours of gametime(not counting time in the character customization). Stop being Chads, save up 800~ dollars, and just buy a functional PC. If it's that alien to you, use your sofa instead of a computer chair to get that maximum level of fat-ass comfort.

4). Arguably the most important bit of this: Stop being whiny nerd bitches. If someone dangles bait on the end of a line and you bite, that's on you, not the guy fishing. You're spoiled on heavily used engines like UE4, where 99% of the leg work is done already to accommodate both PC and console systems and all that falls on the dev team is moving around pre-designed code and objects.

So, gamers, enjoy your Ubisoft, your EA, your Bethesda, because you've been a stronger force in promoting their prominence in the medium than anything else. I imagine it won't be long before Obsidian has a turn at the enthusiastic blowjob-turned bitey bullshit you no lives seem to have made a gaming staple.

  9. When you claim open communication is at your core and you aren't openly communicating what you actually did.

A video where they count technical excuses isn't a apology.
This had nothing to do with the scope of the game, it isn't the buggy release that bothers me or my friends
They out right LIED. Simple. Multiple times too; about the state of the game on "current" gen consoles. Yes, current, because the "new" gen. literally just came up and never was the generation meant for this game to be played in.
Half-ish of their sales were in consoles and how much of that do you think is the newer consoles?

A apology where you don't admit your mistake isn't a apology.
"We lied, we were deceitful and we purposefully mislead our customers and perhaps even our investors for launch revenue, we didn't want to loose steam from our hype train and the timing."
This is what they could have said, rather then reading a prompter text that makes a deflective stance on the real issue, diverting the attention to the production difficulty of the game and making bold claims of honesty being their motto.

I believe in apologies, don't get me wrong.
We are all human and ofcourse we make errors,
We also do bad things knowingly too, I made them and altho I hope I wont, I probably will again,
However what we can do as humans also is admit we knowingly did bad
So we can knowingly then do good.

  10. This is all bullshit they had almost 8 years to make this game and its bullshit that they didn't realize the state of the game on console . What they need to do is SHUT THE FUCK UP and just fix it . Then after they fix it apologize to everyone and give us the first two DLC's for free.
