  1. Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't true daedra weapons and armor usually actually Daedra themselves, just forced into the form of a weapon or armor? That is why you can summon such things with conjuration. My take has been that the weapons and armor of dremora are actually such daedra, that is why they are weaker than Daedric weapons made through smithing with obsidian. And why the armor of demora cannot usually be removed, because they are a lesser daedra bonded to the body of the daedra, or maybe even their own form altered.

  2. It's been a few years since I read them, but wasn't there a kind of hell's kitchen thing going on in The Infernal City/Lord of Souls? From what I remember didn't each lord have a kitchen run by 'daedra' that would compete to have the best meals, but the kitchens/chefs could invade each other? I thought it was pretty cool.

Also, ashamed to say I laughed at "see you next year haw haw haw!" quite a bit.

  3. A couple others that seem to be comparible to at the very least Dremora are Nocturnals Shrikes and Sheogoraths Golden Saints. I don't know much about the Goldent Saint's but they seem to be the antithesis of the Mazken. I would expect Sheogorath to keep them both around because he likes to watch them fight and bicker with eachother. And the Shrikes seem to be the most organized as a clan system.
Also, I do feel like Winged Twilights are far more intelegent than say Ogrim or Scamps. They strike me as the type of Daedra that would be just as inclined to try and trick a mortal as they would be to try and kill one. Maybe because of their design or maybe because I cannot imagine Azura keeping around minions that couldn't use some higher standard of reason.

  4. Love these podcasts guys. Here’s some thoughts of mine:

    1) Around 9:50, you mention summoned dremora being forced to act against their prince. I remember there being a book in ESO written by a dremora that had that very same situation; he was being forced to fight Mannimarco’s minions while the necromancer was allied with Molag Bal.

    2) That’s interesting that kynreeve essentially means “sheriff,” given that reeve means is basically a sheriff in Anglo-Saxon tongue (since you played Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you hear it especially in the Lunden arc).

    3. I kept wanting to mention the correct pronunciation of “xivilai” to you guys but I kept forgetting, but did you know it’s vocalized in ES IV: Oblivion? In Paradise, the dremora Kathutet says he wants you to free “the xivilai Anaxes” from the Mythic Dawn who trapped him.

  5. What I wanna see is a daedric ghost.

Not all mortals ascend to the aetherial realms upon death. Some linger in our world, a spirit without a body. Immaterial.

Perhaps we could see what a daedra is like when it lacks a body, but hasn't returned to its plane of oblivion.

    An ethereal daedra.

  6. In ESO, there's a book written BY A DREMORA. Forgot the name, but it showed how he HATED to be summoned, and almost even killed his master, but couldn't because as soon as the binding spell wore off, the conjuration spell also did

  7. Must say that Morrowind has my favorite daedric armor while Oblivion has my least favorite. Morrowinds looks really cool and quite unique with its masks while Oblivion looks like a mess. Skyrim has a good armor as well but it gets ruined a bit for me due to the helm and pauldrons. The spikes make it look more silly then threatening to me.

  8. A question that I would love to hear you guys talk about. “What do Daedric princes want?” As in, when famous wizards and world leaders made deals with daedra, what sort of things would they even consider to be a fair trade for their services?

  10. Tbh, after watching this, I feel like you should be able to conjure men and mer and bind them aswell haha considering how powerful the deadra can be. Or at least, they should be able to summon man and mer

  11. Makes sense Hermaeus Mora was named the Woodland Man: those materials for those books within Apocrypha might as well came from forests, not including parchment and hide.

  12. What about saints & seducers? What are the Dremora's relations to Elves? They have the same ears and bone structure? Is this just a game mechanic or something more? In my mind I believe more.

In my mind, Dremora are some fusion of Mortal Elves with deadric prince blood or essence, from the merethic era, that have then gone on to evolve (or be further changed by experiments) a little and create different bloodlines (as in prince bloodlines).

My theory is, they are corrupted wood elves (when wood elves started splitting from Altmer – a pre-curser to wood elves maybe) born of a dark experiment.

This also explains the MORA term (wood). Maybe DRE means corrupted or something, or maybe denoted that they belong to the Deadra.. like 'OUR WOOD'.

Perhaps their souls have been fused to the princes in this experiment, explaining why they reincarnate there, instead of going to Sovengard or wherever.

The deadric princes have a track record don't they…? They corrupted dark elves, who Azura cursed with Ash skin & eyes of fire. They were responsible for corrupting Orsimer by corrupting Malacath.

When you think about it, Vampires are not too disimlar are they? Immortal, can't breed, blood / corruption of a deadric prince… Maybe vampirism is the weaker legacy of this process? When the dragonfires were lit, this is all that survived in the mortal Realm from that period…

    Thoughts?

  13. The Spider Kith are an intelligent type of humanoid daedra that serve Mephala. They look like dark elves covered in webbed skin and have the ability to summon spiders and spit poison at their enemies.

  14. If you go at a low level you can get the snow elf vampire boss from Dawnguard as a dead thrall and he's OP
And there's a scamp that lives with a bunch of orcs Morrowind named Creeper who buys a lot of stuff from you at full price
