Medieval Dynasty All Melee Weapons Ranked – Close Combat Weapons

In this Medieval Dynasty video, i rank all the melee weapons in this game based on damage, using the metric of hits per wisent to quantify the ranking.

This list will rank all the spears, the knives, the cudgel, and the fists.

Will the combat be in the game? Not talking about hunting. Can I attack NPC with a sword/bow etc., can they attack me (like bandits/rival villagers)?

Combat is being discussed at the moment, more information will follow. Combat is currently under review, if implemented you can possibly fight NPCs like raiders attacking the village. Fighting wildlife/animals is in (as seen in gameplay sneak peek on IGN). Mass battles, however, probably won’t find their way into the game, as they’re not planned right now.

  1. That's good info, thanks. It is nice to see them keeping this game up to date but man they are really patching this thing. Yesterday out of nowhere an iron spear showed up in my inventory after re-loading a save. Apparently a gift from the gods for sure! 🙂 Would it be possible to do something showing the best uses for villagers, and were they are wasting their time not producing anything? I mean does a storekeeper in the storage shed really do anything? Keep up the good work!

  2. I used to kill bears with about 6 wooden spears, but after the update you'd have to make a giant porcupine out of them before they die to wooden spears. And when I finally killed it, a second bear appeared and stomped my carcass into the ground. So "thaaaanks fror the update", Devs ;)! But seriously, it does make it a lot more realistic, so now I take my longbow with Iron Arrows with me on mining trips (and a skinning knife).

  3. To make the bison and bears more deadly one of three things I would recommend: either give the bison three times it's original health and the the bear 4 times its original health, never let them lose stamina from being injured, or increase their damage output; bu yeah realistically 11 fist bumps I doubt could kill a wild wolf let alone a bison.

  4. it's tough to make vids on this game, it's patched so many times and so frequently the numbers are almost always out. In saying that there is a lot of work needed in balancing the game. The true to life mechanics vs in-game progression doesn't make a lot of sense at times and it's a hard job. I hope the devs keep a quality of life involved no matter what path they follow. I hate meaningless grind and time gated bloat content in games and my biggest gripe (dynasty rep) seems to be getting addressed.
