Electro succumbed to darkness, Hydro died to Geo, Pyro went crazy. My guess is that Geo is the only one we can assume could become playable. And in the yakshas wish quest, the only sane one left(geo) left treasure behind.

Why does so many people think that Ganyu is the blue Yaksha, you can clearly see that it's element is hydro, also Ganyu is a Quilin not a Yaksha
Ganyu is not a yaksha Ganyu is Adepti. Adeptis and yakshas are different beings
I think them "dying" was losing their Yaksha abilities. The cryo Yaksha has the same head horns as Ganyu, but it said one disappeared, she disappeared to Liyue to be apart of the Qinxing. During her story quest, she is being retrained by Xiao to re-attain her adeptus power (Yaksha Power possibly?) I think the others are still alive but bc they lost their Yaksha powers they may have been to weak and fled Liyue

Genshin players needs to think smarter than this, the blue yaksha is not ganyu because why? THE FREAKIN HORNS ARE VERY DIFFERENT THAN GANYU'S HORNS. The yellow yaksha is not Zhongli and Rex Lapis or also called Morax who is the Geo Archon is Zhongli. Get it right genshin players.
It might be the Eletro Yaksha or the Geo Yaksha that fled or vanished

Looks like it might be the electro yaksha who had vanished. Geo and Hydro fought each other from what was shown to us. Pyro appears to have just gone mad, therefore perishing, and the electro was shown by themselves.
Like you said, not enough info to go by. Could have just been to show the brief history without giving specific detail. Perhaps it is the Hydro one who is still alive. We gotta wait and find out 😭

After watching the teaser for like a hundred times, I think it's the geo guy who vanished. In the video when the masks are shattered there is a quick blood splatter animation on the three other except for geo (even though there is some blood finally).
From here on it is full speculation. he probably just killed mamagoat and vanished and went on to become albedo's master (rhinedottir)..
