Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access Builds: Ranger Guide (Hunter)

In this Baldur’s Gate 3 Build Guide I’m going to be covering my Ranger (Hunter) Build for Early Access, and showing you what I’ve found to work best. I’ll be doing more Build Guides at the launch of Baldur’s Gate 3, but for now, let’s look at how you can use an Hunter effectively in the first Act of the game.

  1. For Dual-Wield the BEST light weapon, even better than any non-light one, is the torch! 1d4+1d4 fire and chance to ignite… And there is also a hatchet that ALWAYS ignites that is borderline broken. Fire is stupid in BG3, use fire.

  2. Hi guys, I'm doing a solo ranger playthrough using pretty much this build. If you guys interested, checkout my channel. Hoping to see all the feedback thanks.

  3. For anyone wanting to try, be warned. The game breaks down badly after the Grove quest.
    Max level is 4.

I can currently go into the underdark or after a witch. In either case I am outnumbered by higher level enemies. Restricting player level to less than that of enemies was a stupid choice.

  4. I had a gameplay with a fighter, a ranger and recently a warlock. Ranger specialized in archery and colossus slayer was by far the easiest run I had. Steamrolled through everything without breaking a sweat. The only fight that was somehow tough was the spider.

  5. I built a gold dwarf ranger tank, took ranger knight and beast tamer to summon the spider. You can take the fire natural explorer when the spider webs are on fire and spider boots when they're not. It's honestly a pretty fun tank class to play

  6. Melee dwarf rangers with horde breaker is amazing. You should really try it. You can either dual wield hand axes or do the proper thing and get a big ass weapon and take great weapon master. You can get 4 attacks off a round and bless removes the penalties of GWM.

  7. I hope they implement quivers in the full game. Characters just don't look like proper archers to me if they do not have a quiver. Would love a smaller quiver for bolts (maybe on the belt) for crossbows too. I hope crossbows will be viable for hunters. Loved Varric in DAI and would like to make a Dwarf Crossbow Quarreler.
