  1. People have every right to be pissed at CD Projekt over how they launched Cyberpunk 2077, but this hack is just a shitty situation that's helping nobody.

  2. So, they get "hacked".. no copies of their game leak, none of the damning documents leak. But they did get distraction from the media blasting they were getting, and now, more time to code.. makes me wonder just how close this "hacker" was to the company..

  3. This is legit. I have a friend who works on the debugging process and that person confirmed some time ago that due to the hack, it will be most likely that the patch will be delayed, possibly more than this.

  4. Oh yeah, I've learned that even if you are working hard to be quick about updating security it can take a few months to recover from this. I doubt this is just going to take one month to truly fix.

  5. This is just an excuse from CDPR. They need you to feel bad for them and buy more time to fix the broken game they lied to you about so you would buy it. They sold their own code because they lost money because of how much backlash they got. They need to fix the game we paid for. CDPR screwed their own workers just like they did it’s fans. My gut says not to trust this.

  6. This is what I dont get CD did some criminal shot. They took peoples money knowing that it didn't work. How is that not grand theft. They took billions milked their stock price. Fuck em . No problem with what happened to them. Made billions amd didn't even beef up your security.

  7. Feel awful for the developers man. 9/10 times it's a bunch of super passionate people that get moved in a diff direction by some higher up that either doesn't understand or give a shit.

These people were probably super excited building CP and then got forced into crunch time and forced to release something they weren't yet ready to.

CDPR is in the spotlight right now, but it's pretty common now to see this where games take longer to make but execs want to cash in. Leads to poor performance or simply unfinished games. Anthem anyone?

  8. 4:30 CD Projekt Red really does come off as that person who always has excuses for not delivering on their promises. "Yea yea, it's done in a few months." – a few months later – "No, sorry, next month cause… my dog ate my work." – a month later – "I'll have it next week. I couldn't work on it cause my dog ate it, remember." – a week later – "Tomorrow. I promise. No more delays… maybe." – the next day – "Here's my pile of dogshit. I had to wait for my dog to poop it out."

  9. With how disgusting Seedy Project Red has been, I would not be surprised if this is a staged hoax so that they get extra time to work on their broken game without public backlash.

  10. this reminds me of the giant hack that Sony got years ago. There was a lot of schadenfreude toward the company with people saying "sony appears human with their pants down now" even though sony is a company and not a human lol. Bad I did still feel bad for sony, and the people who got hacked and had their finances fucked up.

  11. This game will never be safe to have on your computer unless it is totally isolated from the internet. The attackers have access to an unknowable number of bugs in it which have unknowable severity, so it must be assumed that at least one of them is remotely exploitable. From here on out, having this game installed on your computer at all is a liability. The only safe course of action is to uninstall the game, never install it again, and contact your representatives or legal counsel to pursue legal action against CDPR.

  12. Ironic.. they make game about hacking then get hacked themselves kinda reminds "Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself."

  13. At least their top priority in response is their employee's security and safety. I'd say that's an admirable quality. Things like this hurt lots more people than it's intended recipient, they already know their customers are unhappy and all it did was hurt the people that want it to get where it needs to be. =(

  14. F*cking criminals. I have no sympathy for them, no matter how much CDPR screwed up. We can't have a situation where it's okay to commit crimes against people or companies who mismanage some product or service.

  15. I told you guys that you shouldn't believe ANY roadmap, they are like promises, they can be broken just as easily. Even without a pandemic and hacking, they would never have respected their plans, they just had to find some positive things in all the shitstorm that's been falling on them and this is it.

  16. Mahalo for helping understand what's going on. I appreciate highlighting crime only helps criminals and makes things crappy for all others. 🙏 for the victims of this hack crime impeding their lives on several levels😔.
