These last few days waiting on CP2077 have felt just as long as the years since announcement
retarded video, "if you are reading a review days after release, it may have been rushed" also, the sky is blue
While reviewers loved the game. The bugs it had made them give a low score for it.
This has been a problem with reviews for a long time. I think part of the problem is most games are huge these days and reviewers just don't have the time to play them properly before the review embargo is lifted. I started gaming in the mid-80's and back then the reviews were a lot more reliable, because most of the games were pretty short and the reviewers had plenty of time to play them. This enabled them to present a much clearer and more honest review.
Personally, I don't think the gaming press should review Cyberpunk 2077 right away. It's had a protracted development period, so it's likely to be full of bugs and not optimised properly, and we don't really know for certain how it runs on last gen console hardware, particularly the older PS4 and Xbox One. I think reviews should wait a couple of months until the first major patches have been applied. Or, the game should be re-reviewed in around 6 months when the devs have had time to fix stuff.

Bugs and glitches aside, a political game like cyberpunk 2077 is destined for mixed reviews, especially with it releasing at a point in time where politics is being put behind literally everything!

Our society places too much value on reviews. When I was a kid, I bought a game because the box art looked cool and most of the time i still had fun.

When you talked about the side stories, I felt that, because that's how Mass Effect Andromeda was. Unfortunately people were too busy riding the hate train to notice.
I pre-ordered on GoG as soon as pre-orders went live, and was able to install yesterday, I hit play, but got this screen sayin' "go back to sleep samurai, It's not Dec. 10th yet"
I have been asking(CDPR) how we can get the goodies package offered with the physical edition, I really want the stickers!!!(the other stuff too) Unfortunately, all I got for an answer was ask for a refund, and to buy physically if I wanted the goods😥 Most of my buddies have an Xbox, so if I'm going to team up in MP, and there is no word on if cross-play is a thing, maybe a physical Xbox copy will be prudent👍

The game has 3 player factions so even if you grinded through the main story for 65 hours you still only played 1/3 of the game

I have always been a big fan of steam and always purchased games through there, at least up until a couple years ago when I found GOG. Their anti DRM policy proves that they are here for the gamers and want to give us the best products possible. Not to mention they fixed the PC versions of Fallout 3 and New Vegas because Bethesda wouldn't. Whenever I'm looking to buy a new game I always go to GOG first to see if they have it and then go to Steam.

175 hours . . . Pah! I've played Skyrim literally 2000 hours. Most of the games I like and play get at least 150 hours and some get >500. I pity end-users who feel that "the way" to play a game is to "get to the end." That may be the case for games which are NOT open world or RPGs with almost infinite path variations. But for those genres, the way to play is to focus on the journey not the destination.
