  1. Fun Fact: Once you do the mission “I walk the line” if you go to the main menu. You can see doctor paradox speaking and he says “Mikoshi… Gotta figure out how to get us there, V, ASAP.” when you’re about to load into the game

  2. okay, so I am steadfast convinced there is more to the cat than meets the eye.
For a start, the cat you see with Takemura seems to notice/ follow Johnny. Also, you can see magazines on racks around the city showing synthetic sphynx cats that are actually robots. Thirdly, if you look for it, much like Mr Blue Eyes, you can actually spot the cat (or cats, could be multiple) in many key missions and areas.
I'm fairly certain there is a rogue AI at play here, seeing as it seems the entire events of the game are the result of some AI puppet master from beyond the Black Wall.

  3. Something I would like to point out that some of the players in my Tabletop group pointed out to me when I brought up the cats existences and not understanding what they meant will be the following:
Rache as a sign of co-operation between him and Alt Cunningham was gifted a Cybernetic Cat which was destroyed on the raid of his house in parts of the lore. This cybercat was used for both observation, netrunning, and spying by Rache in Meatspace and Cyberspace. Its highly possible the Cats we see in both our heads is not some symbolic nature and infact Rache, or a Copy of Rache as Rache was infact looking for people in RED Handguide which points to him wanting some sort of brain clone needing other people for, (which is a total different thing involving the Rache Collective theory and Rache using other peoples body and heavily suggested in RED and minorly implied in 2077) And the reason V sees the cat in his head and not just meatspace is possibly Rache or Alt planting a neural bug inside V to observe them in their own Neural Architect (Which is the new substitute for Data Forts in NC, and the one we enter in V's head carved out by Johnny and meet Alt in and takes the appearance of Mikoshi, as in the Japanese Shrine itself the Data Fort Mikoshi is based and named after) aswell as in meatspace.

(Important Note, some of this is from Firestorm, since RED and 2077's release its been confirmed certain parts of Firestorm and other previously non-canon Lore was now made canon, but only certain sections, so now its a massive mess of figuring out whats ingame and in Red to know what non-canon is now canon)

For those who might say, "You can't hack a persons brain." you should know, infact, you can, and have been able too since 2020 and is something Rache was heavily known for doing. Infact Rache implanted a virus in an entire apartment block to alter peoples behaviors to be more incognito and not cause trouble to work as spies and not lure any attention from the Law, Rache's Cyberpsychosis and Suicide programs are programs that alter the behaviors of a persons brain and 2077 directly explains that a Construct is just a copy of the Neural Synapsis pathway, think like a snowflake, each one is unique, or a spider web, and then the synaptic bursts down the new neural synaptic pathway makes up the memories. In 2020 you could even use a Lich program which canonically would insert a program on par with a basic humans intelligence into the persons brain after killing them, thus raising the person back from the dead with the personality of whatever program's pseudo-intelligent personality was installed on it. This is why Cyberpsychosis and Suicide are Rache Legendary perks, these are just a few of his personnel programs.

Keep in mind, this is not a fact that the cats are Rache or Alt spying as the creator Mike Pondsmith has never come out directly saying it just like many other things in RED and the Game, this is just connecting the dots on patterns Mike has set up and creating a conclusion that was not verified based on pre-existing information the Tabletops and the Game have both given us.

I personally do not know if it would be either Rache or Alt, I think it makes more sense its Alt in this case because she's already in your head, but the cat itself was observing far before Alt was made aware and can clearly see Johnny so has some form of Virtual Goggle simulated view, which allows netrunners to see netspace through said goggles. If it was Alt why would she not make contact sooner? How is she confused by johnny's sudden appearance when her spy could clearly see it and has been watching? Obviously some of the cats like the one you adopt I truly believe are real cats, because you see them eat food (Unless they have a biosynthesizer to produce energy? We never see them use the restroom, but why would we?) But it is possible the cats I believe are real, are also fake, and only the one Takamura and you deal with is the fake re-occuring one used as a spy, and thats why it has Virtuality Goggle usage to see Johnny (Which makes sense, in a city of no cats seeing a cat would be too obvious is not a real cat, so there must be REAL cats for a fake Cat to actually function) and everything implies then based on Alts surprise and lack of knowledge that its Raches cat instead, it can't be Arasaka's or Microtechs as the plot would just not exist, can't be Nightcorps either for same reason or any traditional corps..Maybe Mr. Blue Eyes? But why wouldn't he contact you sooner then? The plot would just crumble immediately and not happen if it was him too. It makes me believe it has to be Rache, because its more fitting of Raches behavior and what is known of his active existence in 2077.

But who knows, make your own conclusions because thats what Mike Pondsmith wants, he wants us all to come with our own conclusions based on a map that is the story he provides so that way we can "Each have a different story." based on our own conclusions and no predefined outcome and prevents storytelling and development for the Tabletop version. My Conclusion and my thinkgroup believe its Rache until we find any more evidence that suggests otherwise. For those who read all the way to the end say to SW33T E11I3 in order to show you did so I know who I should respond too since I people who wouldn't even read lord of the rings shouldn't be crticizing Lord of the Rings so people who didn't read what I say shouldn't be responding to what I say and this lets me know you're the person I should be listening to, this name is actually one of Raches many alias's he takes on the Net and you can find as being one of the people who is active on the Rache Forum and who texts you ingame.

Thank you for those of you who also find the story interesting and a love for cyberpunks lore, or just took the time to read my brain defecating a massive wall of exposition and info to think out loud and share. Love you all! <3
