Normally, I prefer to pile stories together for a video, but today’s topic has earned one of its own due to the seriousness of the bug. Regardless of the platform you are on, you are susceptible to this and as a Reddit post wisely put it, all saves are a ticking time bomb. In Cyberpunk 2077, if you loot too much and your file size exceeds 8 MB then that’s it. It is corrupted and there is no going back. Furthermore, CD Projekt Red doesn’t seem to have a fix in mind for this causing concern for every those who are enjoying their time in the game.

  1. Hopefully CDPR can turn this shitshow around. Its not impossible, they just need to look at Hello Games. No Mans Sky and this situation has so many similarities, Overhyped games, millions of bugs, unfinished…. They need to look at how Hello Games turned it around, and actully came out with at win, by focusing first of of fixing bugs, and then just continually improving the game, and releasing new content.

  2. To be honest, I wasn't satisified with the game at the start but yesterday I resumed my gameplay and I had a blast, but I'm playing on PC; have about 70 hours of gameplay right now, still haven't finished the game.

  3. Even my grandma's Sunday grocery list exceeds 8MB, meanwhile this game probably won't allow you to have oversized genitalia because it takes up a lot of its 8MB file size cap.

  4. No joke they cut 90% of this games features the only thing good about this game is the look of the world and the story GTA 6 is gonna make people say Cyber Who??? Once it's announced I bet they were waiting for this train wreck to happen so they can undermine em with next gen GTA 5 and the announcement of a game that's sure to put all other open world's to sleep that being Grand Theft Auto 6 where we will start in the 80s stop in the 2000s and end in 2020 with cars gaining value overtime and dynamic drug partnerships they have hinted at it multiple time in GTAO, GTA 5 SP and RDR 2!! I bet the newest DLC is connected to GTA 6

  5. My save file is 32mb on xbox one x. But I've 13 saves so for people on console i keep seeing saying they're way past the 8mb limit. But you have to divide all your saves into the number. The new saves will be bigger though. I'm going back to PC, Xbox ONE X is just so limited to what you can find out. I WANT TOTAL CONTROL!

  6. Makes you wonder how those "pro reviewers" actually played CyberPunk if they didn't pass the 8 mb save size… To comperasion, My GTA5 save size is 13 MB, and all I played is the prologue…

  7. This is very reminiscent of the 0kb glitch in skyrim and fallout 4. I hate those games now because there is no fixing the glitch (I've tried for literal years) and both are basically bricked on my console. Hopefully this is not the 0kb glitch 2.0

  8. MagicTacoSauce here, the one who made the PSA. It seems this is mainly a PC issue but I have had hundreds of people telling me they encountered this on console as well so I wouldn't rule it out. The majority of the people in the comments have been PC, though.

  9. This is not a big issue if players save manually often. I have looted around 3000 items including crafting and duplicated items. Just save manually then players will never face this problem.

  10. You did have a pretty shit review for Cyberpunk. It's okay to own up to it, idk why it's so hard for people to admit to giving into hype once

  11. I am so 100% the same as Matty. I have a very high tolerance for bugs – if I lose an hours progress to a bug, I swear a couple of times, then reload and start that mission again. If some things glitch out, I'm more likely to laugh than ask for a refund.

But this bug is antithesis to the core concept of the game – open world RPG where it is recommended you neither loot everything (and, btw, deleting items or selling materials DOES NOT reduce the save size) nor do every mission. If the recommended advice is dont play for too long, there is serious risk of killing the game and enthusiasm for it stone dead. There will be no NMS fairytale ending if they dont fix this one immediately.

  12. Me and a couple other computer science and software engineering students at my college saw this today and are gonna run some tests how on the save files are affected on PC by picking up items, scrapping items, deleting and selling items etc and looking into how REDENGINE seems to be storing data and instances of objects. We have save files at various sizes and the good news off the rip is that it does seem like the file can grow and it can shrink proportionally to how full your inventory is. For instance I have one save file at ~4.2mb and a newer one at ~4.1mb. This means the corruption can be relatively easy to avoid if you keep track of your save file size. P.S on PC default save location on your system will be for windows:

"C:UsersuserNameSaved GamesCD Projekt RedCyberpunk 2077" (open a save folder and check the size of the "sav.dat" file) metadata.json also contains some nifty info about your character and can direct you to other roots in the games files to dig deeper into how this game is handling data.

I feel this issue is a ridiculous data oversight by an otherwise insanely talented dev team and find this to be the worst issue with the game as no next gen console or monster PC can save you. I hope a lot of people get the opportunity to see this comment as finding out this info on the basics of the growth and shrink of the save files brought a lot of ease to me and my friends for our playthroughs as we now just need to keep an eye on our file size and adjust our inventories accordingly as ridiculous of a thing that is to need to do for a video game.

    Another Side Note:
As Matty states crafters are hit the hardest by the corruption due to the abundance of resources you'll have and how the moderator on the forum states how the REDENGINE deals with instance creation. So be wary as crafting parts creep up on you as they may not add weight to V but they most certainly add weight to your save file and bring you closer to "over-encumbered"!!

  13. I love how “journalism and journalist” these days swear that a review is a 100% opinion and that’s what we believe and that it’s. Like bro, there is room for a grey area and improvement. Criticism can be turned into praise. But it needs to be called out first. Love your channel and attitude. Keep it up man. Screw those journos

Side note. Anyone else notice that cars disappear the closer you get when driving. Like on the highway lmao. What’s up with that.
