In recent weeks, we’ve compared Cyberpunk 2077 to open world megatons like GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and CDPR’s own The Witcher 3, and it hasn’t been a very good look for the new open world game. What’s surprising, however, is that it gets shown up in many ways even by a much older title.

GTA 4, which is almost 13 years old at this point, is full of tiny little details and flourishes that are missing in Cyberpunk 2077, which contributes significantly to the immersion factor in any open world title. Here, we’re going to take a look at fifteen such details.

  1. Why are these videos still being made? It's done and over with seriously just fucking let it go already. What's irritating to me is the truth behind the scenes has already come out this isnt the developers and programmers faults whatsoever, it's the top dogs at CDPR who forced this out the door. All these videos are accomplishing is shaming the employees who busted ass and were mistreated to get this game out the door, not to .mention weve seen about a hundred of these.

  2. Well duh, Euphoria is responsible for 90% of this video – it is just that good and shows a skeletal based simulation is a must in modern games – some gamedevs just create their own engines like ND for uncharted/last of us games

  3. This game is the worst open world game when compared to any other open world game. As this game has zero physics if you go max speed in the fastest car and jump out you will land on your feet without a scratch. If you shoot at water nothing happens and swimming in it is a joke. The npcs have no depth no schedule no routine. If you wait for 12 hours they will be in the exact same spot. The world is empty with zero interactions and no mini games and nothing to do. The wanted system shouldn’t have even been in the game as it’s just cops spawning behind you and in walls. If you commit a crime with no one around they still spawn behind you. This game was made by novice devs and it shows.

  4. That's why Rockstar is amazing
I thought after witcher 3 cdpr could reach their level but Rockstar's open world games are just too good to even compare with other open world games
Hard work is key for them definitely.

  5. Fuck that I love cyberpunk. The atmosphere and graphics alone do it got me. If you don’t have a PS5 (XSX) or high end pc then you really shouldn’t touch this game until than. It’s an absolute crime to play this almost masterpiece on last gen.

  6. The NPC in cyberpunk reaaaally need an improvement. Is the worst aspect of the game to me. It completely breaks the beauty of the city.

Said that, I don’t play Cyberpunk like GTA. I don’t go want to rob stores or play minigames (Maybe I’d like to eat in Kabuki Plaza with proper animations). Probably I was just one of those guys who played GTA for the story and never touched it again.

And there is a good RPG in there. GTA had lame narrative and no story at all, progression was measured by the caliber of your guns. it was a crime sim. Think about L.A. Noir. Open world 1950 Los Angeles. You couldn’t rob stores or kill random people, because that was not the point of the game. You are supposed to be the good guy.

So, why are you mad you can’t rob stores? It’s like complaining that you can’t assault villagers in Breath of the Wild.

We all agree AI’s NPC need more work, A LOT MORE, but I am having more fun than GTA by a long mile.
