  2. I’m so sick of gaming “journalism”. I used to read Game informer and other such magazine all the time. Now, because everything is politicized, you can’t even count on them for an actual review.

  3. This totally not okay. I hate that they paint you like this, especially when you have, in no uncertain terms, stated in every critique of an article not to go attack the authors. You have never said anything that could be understood differently. The only reason I could possibly see where their argument holds water is in reference to truth. She did play the game albeit, incompletely, and the title suggests that she did not play the game, which is a contradiction. The quality assigned to the way she played the game was incomplete, but playing is linguistically one of those actions that can be the result of itself and have a separate result. We can see this demonstrated by the ability to say that you played a game for some amount of time, even if you did not finish the story, you still played it. This is why it is technically a lie to say that she didn't play the game, since it was able to be played without those mechanics. Your statement that she was lazy is true, and that she didn't play all of the game is true, but not that she didn't play the game. It is kind of weak even written out, but journalists have used less than that before (looking at you "the sun").

  4. This happens with so many games. I saw last week so many reviews on shiren the wanderer by reviewers who obviously had no idea what a roguelike is nor played anything close to ADOM, TOME, COQ.. let alone rogue itself and complained that "when you die you lose your objects". I was like what the f*** this is like reviewing a football game and complaining that after the match the scoreboard is reset to 0

  5. Games are like marmite, some people love them some hate them. I watch a load of different reviews and play throughs just to see what the game is like and to see if it’s my type of game and how it runs on my console. I don’t really care what a reviewer scores it because even though a review is supposed to be non biased, personal opinion will always play a part in their verdict. Some of the highest scoring games in history I personally don’t like and would have rated far lower as they are just not my cup of tea. I remember the review of Amy getting bad reviews everywhere but it looked like my sort of game so I downloaded it and loved every minute of it, same with I am alive, but Halo, can’t get my head around the hype as I just don’t like it but I like call of duty. I agree though that the snowflake world is against any criticism and should just accept we can all have an opinion and not just theirs which they try to force us all into.
