I think projekt red tried to make this game too much like gta 5 arguably the greatest free roam game of all time. When you put yourself up against such a pristine game, you’re gonna get a lot of harsh criticism when it doesn’t meet standards

Honestly the criticism of this game is just sad at this point, I don't get where people are coming from. Bear in mind I personally had little actual hype for it but as a CDP game I knew it was going to be amazing but it would launch buggily and get fixed. I was exactly right. It is, to me, absolutely on par with the Witcher 3 which everyone seems to think is the god game best ever thing. People are salty because the game doesn't run on poor people's previous gen consoles that it wasn't designed for and I do think it was a mistake releasing it for them but as far as the game itself goes you lot hyped yourself up into a frenzy over marketing that has never held up for basically any title ever and that's your fault. Stop following games journalism and you might actually start liking the good things that release instead of crying for more out of every single title.

Marketing overdid it's job and people bought the ticket for the hype train. Why am I not surprised? Just keep your expectations in check so you won't be your own obstacle at enjoying a perfectly decent, good game!

Imma be the devils advocate here. They did release it way to soon yes but they were likely pressured into it due to several reasons . A. Much pressure from fans and such long development time likely lead share holders and investor to end up giving them the ultimatum of release it by x date or they pull their funding. B. They really did not design this game to be played on console, yes consoles are starting to catch up with pcs but still dont meet that mark and do not support upgrades of any type so its entirely on the devs to essentially downgrade the game to be played on console. C. Bugs are a part of any game and some of everyones favorite games still have bugs no game is bug free such as skyrim but you learn to work around them and at least with high profile games like this the devs will likely patch any of the worse ones given the TIME to work on them because if youve ever worked with code before ots not actually as easy as you think it is and even changing one thing can lead to more broken things so bug fixes or patches will take time. Im so tired of people shitting on cd project red without understanding any of this especially what could very likely be happening behind closed doors financially that lead to such a rushed decision.

Not related to the video, but this reminds me of when the original Doom game was announced, those madlads hadn't even made the game yet and it still came out a masterpiece. Kind of sad, really.
People like Alanah Pearce, Yong Yea, and other youtubers with access to the game before launch basically praising the game, and then after the backlash they did like a complete 180º and suddenly agreed with everyone against cdpr, its so disgusting.
FYI, Im talking about reviewers with complete access to the game 3 days before launch some of them even finished the main campaign, no mention of bugs,missing features or performance problems just "enjoying the game" etc etc.
I waited two whole years for this game, ever since they released the original 48 minute gameplay demo way back in 2018. I wish I could get back the time I had spent being hyped… Such a fucking waste. Although I do not hate CDPR, as there are some people with some real talent working there, the directors behind the game, the management, and ESPECIALLY the marketing team, should be fucking ashamed at the atrocity of distrust and clear dissatisfaction they've created. If you can't finish something in due time, don't bother making it in the 1st place. This game never should have been released and I really wonder how they rationalized the release of it in the 1st place. If this game had never been developed/announced to the public, CDPR's reputation would be back to the Witcher 3's high reviews and they've overall fucked themselves as a company, I cannot imagine them releasing another AAA game in the next decade that is a financial success.
Too bad your potato's couldn't play the game. 400 hours on Steam. 0 bugs.
