  1. I'm dodging all Shattered Samsara videos because I want to see it in the story context! cries in everyone being hype but the willpower staying strong

EDIT: If you like violins watch Version 4.2 trailer. It's a minor story update introducing new battlesuit. But man when it comes to violin shredding there is nothing like it anywhere.

EDIT2: This is the first of the BIG cutscenes MiHoYo has provided and I think it was a thank you to how succesful the game was up until this point.

  3. All of the Herrschers are "the Honkai", as the Herrschers are essentially the "Gods" of the Honkai, they are human beings who are infected by a high amount of Honkai energy that corrupts them into carrying the Will of the Honkai with godlike powers. Well, that is kind of a simplistic explanation, but I'm definitely not knowledgeable enough to give a bigger explanation. Also don't worry, liking the snap isn't stupid, it's pretty iconic of her, it's literally part of her kit as a playable character. Yeah, there are more than a couple Herrscher, there are 14 known Herrschers actually, Reason, Void, Thunder, Wind, Ice, Death, Flame, Sentience, Rock/Star, Domination, Binding, Corruption, the 13th isn't known and the 14th is known as The Final Herrscher with absolute control over Honkai energy. Fortunately though only like, half of the Herrschers have actually manifested (and are still alive) with several of them having the will to resist the Will of the Honkai (or not even having one for some reason in the case of Herrscher of Reason).

  4. I am so glad Genshin gave the opportunity for people to find Honkai. I've rewatched all the cinematic repeatedly over the years at least 50 times… They're too good and I still cry at them

  5. not gonna lie. this is how reactions should be formatted. watch it continuously first before you go back and break it down. i hate it when people pause it in between. just focus on the damn flow.

  6. Honkai or Houkai stands for the Collapse, also referred to as "Humankind's Greatest Enemies". The Herrscher (German for "Ruler") is a human that merged with the Houkai energy and are corrupted mentally and physically by it. Genshin stand for "Allogen", those who have the potential to become a "God". It was explained by Venti when he said that he was once an Allogen.

  8. Just wanted to add a little perspective from someone that's been around since the Gun Girl Z days. Back then, Kiana being corrupted resulted in the end of the world. Her friends fought her, and she murdered every one of them one by one. Bronya. Seele. Theresa. Himeko… and finally Mei who gave in to her own Herrscher powers trying to fight her and ended up strangled to death by her. The last bit of Kiana that could still feel grief managed to restart that world just as Sirin, the entity possessing her destroyed it.

So you can imagine when we who knew about that saw this with all the parallels… Kiana being corrupted. Mei being strangled. Rumors of miHoYo working on their next game (which turned out to be Genshin)… we all figured Honkai 3rd was ending. We thought this was the start of the end of the game, just like last time.

Seeing Kiana take control of her power and seeing Herrscher Mei actually win a fight against her has a higher level of specialness for us having seen Herrscher Kiana murder everyone before in Gun Girl Z.

Going forward, "What is miHoYo story telling capable of"? Killing their entire cast and wiping out humanity. That's what.

  9. "Genshin" should be roughly trasnlated to "Primordial Gods" or ancient gods, basically in Honkai, whenever humanity got their technology to a certain degree, a honkai impact will errupt to destroy it, so i guess 'genshin impact' just means the 'descent of the gods' just like what happened 500 years ago to the khaenri'ah (where kaeya and dainsleif) came from, because the kingdom is said to have the power to go against the gods, maybe that's why the unknown goddess appeared at that time to destroy the kingdom hence the reason she said "the arrogance of mankind must ends now", just like honkai impact.

  10. as a long-time Honkai Impact player. When Kiana does this (2:09), it's the moment I'm just starting to lose my mind. It's also a good indication of when shit is going down.
Also loved your reaction to that last cold stare at the end.

  11. Idk if your gonna find this but watch the first animation reburn that miHoYo did to get some context on the beginning but a small warning that animation is gonna be quite confusing if you look at details too much so watch it as it is first, then rewatch to slowly pick up small evidences starting at the 1min mark

  12. Funfact, that eye turning sceen in 5:09 is because this was the FIRST offical AD of Honkai Impact when it was released.
Also I strongly recommend you to not miss the short scenes. Like the fight of Kevin Kaslana and Durandal. 😉

  13. My fav part about Honkai is that the characters have the abilities shown in their shorts:
HoV snaps and opens a void barrage
HoR uses an orbital strike + motorcycle
HoT literally summons her (stolen/revived) dragon and who's like "imma fire mah beam!"

My only disappointment with Genshin is that their events are doodoo compared to Honkai's.

  14. I'm curious if Mihoyo is gonna keep Genshin on a more family/child friendly theme that it's currently on or if the small hints at a darker world that are smattered in the story are just foreshadowing to a darker turn to Genshin's story. I mean… Mihoyo is a studio that created a game with a very dark, apocalyptic setting and has definitely killed off playable characters and turned their MC into the final boss in a tragic turn of events. The romantic interest also embraced a darker side of methodology in order to keep her loved one alive, not caring about the world. Mihoyo is no stranger to tragedy and duality, so I'm hoping that spreads into Genshin's story so the stakes get higher, even if only a little.

  15. YO man, of all reactors on the HI3 trailers, I definitely love yours! I was hooked into the game solely because of the story, animation, and music and I'm glad you felt the same way too.

    Also some HI3 nutshell:
So Anti-Entropy, Schicksal and the World Serpent are the 3 organizations that are trying to fight off the Honkai. Anti-Entropy uses machines, Schichsal uses humans (Valkyries) while I'm not entirely sure about the World Serpent, I think more on into human experimentation.
