  1. Every time I tried to play Shadow of Destiny on my PS2, three things inevitably happened:
    • my girlfriend fell asleep as a back seat gamer;
    • I got lost not knowing what to do;
    • I started playing something else.

  2. 3:15 "Seeing it all up and running on the handheld is still a sight to behold" Well we have to believe you, because all you're actually showing us are internally upscaled scenes out of an emulator. Why? Why do you do that? If you want to show the graphics of PSP games for their artistic quality, then please do that and don't show us antialiased 60fps 32-bit phantasy graphics that don't represent the real hardware. Kinda missing the point of the whole excercise here imo. If "artistic vision" is of any concern to you, you should show PSP games in 480×272, the intended resolution. You're like George Lucas, tinkering and altering what doesn't need to be tinkered with or altered, especially when you want to convey graphics of the actual hardware like in this video. Please don't get me wrong: I really like your editing and commentary, but at the same time really dislike those artificially smoothed gameplay videos. Yes, there's a time and a place for upscaling, sure, but is "Graphically Impressive PSP Games" really that place? Because with this premise I could show 1080p 60fps Starfox scenes "on SNES". Impressive for the SNES, right? No. It's impressive emulation far detached from the actual physical game. Never be afraid to confront your audience with sexy chunky pixels.

  3. Rarely use my PSP now a days I mostly play on 3ds or 2ds, but back then I always take my PSP go with me. Games I play 3rd Birthday, Megaman, Twisted Metal, God of War Ghost of Sparta, and Tekken.

  4. Some great choices! Definitely agree with Shadow of Destiny, Type 0 and Shattered Memories. However I think Logans Shadow looked better than Dark Mirror (introduced ragdoll physics and underwater traversal too) and Obscure is also one of the best looking games on psp.

  5. PSP was and is such a great portable console> My personal favorite. I remember days when I had to move a lot, and couldn't afford getting a PS3, PSP was the greatest console where I was able to play so many spin offs of my favorite big titles(mostly quite well made ones, unlike on Vita).
    Also on PSP I first got in love with Persona 3 and then bought P4 Golden on PS Vita. So if you make part 3, there're still plenty of amazing good looking games. Also I remember last one I played it on PSP was Black Rock Shooter. Really a good looking one , and it's strange but sometimes Nier Automata felt quite close to it.

  6. … you forgot in your title "ppsspp" (I own Anniversary on PS Vita, i know). this isn't PSP graphics. Very misleading. imagine someone buys the titles you mentioned and think its gonna look this good. smh.

  7. I have most of these games on my s20+ I have around 80 games on it I believe that I play through the emulator. These games look even better since I can crank up the resolution 6-10x in all of the games. Even the touch screen controls work fairly well too since the screen is a decent size but I want to buy some joycon style controllers for it though. I just haven't gotten around to it yet because I recently bought a switch but the psp games would be great to play with a controller on my phones screen. Secret Agent Clank/Jax and Daxter are some of my go to's when I pull open a game but burnout is great too and I may start playing it more after watching this video. sadly some have some glitches etc and it takes a while to figure out which ones have issues when you have so many. I cant remember if burnout had any issues or not. Some games I had issues running smoothly on my old budget phone and forgot whether it was a glitch issue or just a hardware issue and then ill start said game and be surprised that it runs fine. Like Soul Calibur runs great on my phone and looks amazing with the resolution cranked up but all this time I was thinking it wouldn't run but that was my old phone that wouldn't run it without significant frame drops.

    A lot of these games look great because they already had a decent bit of textures but the resolution was just a bit low. Same issue with the switch and I'm guessing a switch pro will absolutely make a lot of games look much nicer. But same with emulating a lot of these era games because they typically had great textures with bad resolutions so cranking up the resolution can make for a fairly modern looking game.

  8. I didn't know Tomb Raider Anniversary got a PSP port. Shame they didn't remake Tomb Raider 2, that 1 is arguably the best of the PS1 Tomb Raider games. Man I miss classic Tomb Raider.
