Xbox's Bethesda Deal Just Got A BIG Update – Major Event SOON, Starfield Reveal, & MORE!

A bit over a week ago, we sat down and mulled over the documents stating that Xbox’s acquisition of Bethesda was progressing smoothly. Today, we get a BIG update on what’s around the corner when that deal finalizes. Xbox seems to be operating under the capacity of owning Bethesda as it has been leaked that event is planned for NEXT month! What could show up? Starfield? A new IP? Information on exclusives? It seems like they plan to make a big deal out of it so let’s dissect and discuss.

  1. So…I really looked forward to cyberpunk and seeing the state that it was released in just killed my hype. I actually haven't played a video game in awhile and keeping up with games just isn't a thing I try to do anymore.

  2. I love Matty. Bethesda hasn't made a good game in how long? But Matty is still their #1 fanboi lol. I can't wait to see Matty's face when Starfield aka train wreck is released lol.

  3. I game on PlayStation but I wouldn’t blame Xbox to make all of those games exclusive. Look what Sony is doing. They are throwing money to keep certain games exclusive for a year or two. They don’t own those studios.

  4. Bethesda has done some amazing games but let's not forget about the mess of fallout 76 they have a lot of work to do to get back and the deal has the smallest chance of being rejected in the coming weeks

  5. Personally I think all new IPs like Starfield that are completely under the control of Bethesda will be exclusive. Pre-existing cross platform projects will probably become timed exclusives so like ESVI could come out earlier or Xbox or Xbox gets DLC first. But I still don’t know about Indiana Jones being completely exclusive. Because with that being a shared entity between Bethesda and Lucasfilm Games, I wonder if contractually they’ll have to do a cross-platform. If not then Xbox finally has a worthy Uncharted like exclusive which would be awesome but 🤷🏻‍♂️ just some speculation.

  6. The Playground Games dev was right. Game studios that Microsoft bought who had already announced a game release on other platforms Microsoft did not interfere with. For example Outer Worlds and Wasteland 3 and Psychonauts 2 HOWEVER each and every single one of these studios is now developing exclusively for the Xbox ecosystem post launch of their last mutiplatform game. I fully expect Microsoft to make every game not previously announced for other platforms exclusive to the Xbox ecosystem.

  7. I caaaaaan't see Bethesda games becoming xbox exclusive. I'm assuming it will have to do with game pass or xbox getting to play early possibly. I play xbox, so whatever the outcome is, im good hahaha

  8. I don’t think they will make exclusive but I DO think they will make them exclusive to game pass for a bit.

Why? Because Bethesda makes a TON of money. They may make some new IPs exclusive but do you think they want to lose out on Skyrim or Fallout money from those who simply can’t afford to buy 2 systems?

Maybe in the future but their 2 big IPs are HUGE!

  9. For PC owners here Bethesda are advertising for a technical writer to document the modding tools for Starfield and probably ESVI. This is probably the best news I've heard in a long time. It's actually a step up from Skyrim and FO4 where support came later after release.

  10. As much as I hate the idea that MS needs a public back patting ceremony for buying another company, but I can't wait for this event so we can move on from talking about Bethesda exclusivity, which is quite possibly the most boring dead horse in the industry

  11. You mention not enough people having the new consoles yet being the reason for a lack of major reveals at this event. Hard disagree there. Aside from multiplayer shooters that get crapped out annually, how many AAA games are released immediately after they’re first revealed and shown off? Or even 6-12 months after being revealed? Almost none. I reeeeally doubt that would be a reason for a lack of big reveals

  12. It literally makes zero sense for Microsoft to not lock down Zenimax as exclusives. Microsoft doesn't need Sony money. They are a 1.8 TRILLION dollar company lol. 7 billion is literally peanuts.

  13. I want full on Resident Evil style remakes of Fallout 1 and 2. Remasters of 3 and New Vegas, AND if we don't get a New Vegas 2 it will be the biggest waste of 7.5billion dollars the world has ever seen lol

  14. I gotta bad feeling about starfield idk seems like they gonna ruin it only cause there is no info and I Kno todd doesn't want info out but they don't even have a gameplay trailer

  15. Sony and Nintendo literally lock their shit down as hard as possible. A gaming world with more exclusivity kind of pisses me off but you can't even come close to blaming Xbox for the smart choice on locking down all of Bethesda in retaliation because Sony and Nintendo are so stingy with allowing outsiders to play their IP. :/ sadly this is where we are at and it's only going to get worse once someone buys up EA, or Ubisoft(because it really seems like everything is heading into 3-4 giant monopolies in every business these days, I figure it won't be long before Tencent makes a titanic purchase again) . Then it'll be all about what piece of plastic you own fully controls what games you can play…

  16. I'm not agree with you on just new IPs, cause what happend with Hellblade 2 for exmple?
The first Hellblade was even a temporay PlayStation exclusive and the second will be a fully Xbox exclusive
So i thin they could make them all excluisves, not just new IPs.

  17. Sorry Matty Starfield will not be an Exclusive it may have some Exclusive content for a time before PlayStation! But it has been development and pretty much done before the aquisition of Bethesda is final! Now Indiana Jones and Planet of the Apes most definitely will and possibly ES VI!
