It’s the Atari 7800! A system born from the fires of corporate shakeups and a quickly evolving video game industry. After the failure of the Atari 5200 Atari hoped the brand new Atari 7800 pro system would become the next big thing…. but it didn’t actually release until 1986 and by then the writing was on the wall for Atari’s spot as the biggest video game console company.
Today we test the Atari 7800 VS NES! The Nintendo Entertainment System sold 35 times Atari’s sales. How did that happen? To determine it we compare the NES and Atari 7800 in various categories like games, graphical capabilities, marketing strategy and controller design to see which 8 bit system was the better buy. (Just ignore the Sega Master System, if it were allowed to compete it would win every category)

Which console do you like better?
Which video game system should we cover next time?
I'm still really not sure how to feel about the 7800. I 100% see what Atari was TRYING to do with it but it's flaws are apparent.
Ahh, but the screw in joy-stick made playing Food Fight possible. With a d-pad it just doesn't work…Just my opinion, The video is awesome!
