(Discussion) Are There Too Many Retro Video Games to Choose From? – Retro Bird

I don’t think anybody has a problem with there being a lot of games, but how many is too many? In this discussion video I talk about the sheer number of games there are for retro gamers to consider, and how this impacts our collecting and game playing tendencies.

  1. I wrote a list down just last week, told myself this is my definitive list to pick a game, and yet I still find myself playing sonic for 30 mins and then I turn off my genesis.

  2. Hey Bird…fun fact:
There IS a miracle sponge out there and, although ive never used it (nor ever would), someone dear to me did use it and it saved my life…MANY times. The Today Sponge. It just might save YOUR life!

  3. So true dude I've been mostly ignoring newer games and mostly playing handheld games and even then there's still so much to keep up with
Kinda lost interest in ps3 and beyond with the whole battery issue 😛

  4. I usually cope by just try not to think about them, I might just watch a full playthrough and then I can feel satisfied like I've kind of experienced it, and I don't need to play it anymore. Or I'll tell myself if i buy every game I want for that, there's no way I'll have enough time or money to play them all.

I have considered getting into some obscure stuff like X68000, FM towns, and TurboCD but they all cost too much with massive libraries, I just don't even look into it.

  5. Crappy games out bid the good…
One thing that turned me off was going to the video store and renting pitt fighter for seven bucks vs a lord of the wu tang clan film… We were stuck all week playing the goonies or wwf… God it was torture… Then renting the predator or leprechaun was better… I think i could make a better video game.. Or spend my money on some good ass weed.

  6. I know there are games out there that I might enjoy but will probably never play, I deal with that by thinking that not discovering them means I get more time for the games I already have. I put effort into picking out games that I will like, so I know I already own a lot of games that are perfect for me. I'm new here, digging the retro vibes on this channel! Also I love birds lol
