I was nervous about buying a DS lite with Pokemon White thinking it would be fake, but it's got the infared Sensor in top of the cartridge, the numbers and words on the back, and the usual wear from years and years of use, and the see through, red glow when shinning a light on it

If u find soul silver, heart gold, black, white just hold up to the light and you should be able to see a redish tint in the cartridge. That's a quick way to tell if they are real.
no black one was the real one but the grey one is the fake one .also get the pokemon games on the 3ds they will skyrocket next year too 100$ i been buying pokemon 3ds any o the games anything pokemon on 3ds i buy . even the ones not made from gamefreak rpg ones i buy too

Make sure to also check the label, sometimes the ESRB rating is off centered, and the Nintendo Logo will look blurrier or weird in general.
"Rule babay!" Haha. At least you were able to return it. I bought some fakes at a pawnshop before. Was definitely bummed. Luckily i bought other games that still doubled my profits so just let it go haha. Handhelds aren't my forte haha.
