I mean, you can see how much of a delight the throwaway action is for yourself in our Out riders gameplay: People Can Fly’s superpowered TPS is frantic and constantly keeps you on your toes, so you won’t be able to hug those conveniently placed waist-high walls. You won’t want to anyway, because you’ll want to play around with your devastating powers. Outriders best class – in Colm and Matthew’s eyes, at least – is the Outriders trickster. Murdering baddie after baddie as a magical timelord is just tremendous.
As you’ll hear in our Outriders PC review of the first six hours, this game has a lot going for it – Outriders World Tier system is yet another enjoyable thing this game has, as it is a difficulty system that encourages you to bump up the challenge for sweeter loot. But, there is nothing exceptional in here. It is pretty good at a lot of things, without being great at any one thing. We say it’s pretty good at a lot of things instead of everything, because Outriders story and characters are particularly uninspiring. Still, if you’re champing at the bit for mindless shooting in mucky brown town, then you should give Outrider a go.

I liked the line delivery more than you guys, I actually thought there was good personality to the NPCs.
My interest is whether live service and looter shooter games can ever have a story that's fulfilling. I don't know if it's possible to have the same story beats as you would in a single player game. The first Division had moments but at the end it all felt inconsequential (put ~200 hrs in).
While I don't quite agree that the story is THAT bad, I do agree that this game was predictable in quality (aside from server issues at launch).
However, that's definitely not a bad thing, which you guys do talk about so thank you for that. There's nothing wrong with a 7 or 8/10 game. I think the best part about this game is it was very transparent, you knew what you were getting with it, so there wasn't a lot of mystery and over-blown hype. We expected a solid, not perfect game and we got just that. As long as they get the server issues resolved and the vanishing gear bug fixed, this game will be just fine.
Definitely better than some other over-promised games ahem Anthem ahem
