Valheim – Co-Op Survival Viking Game – Actually Impressive – 2021

A brutal exploration and survival game for 1-10 players, set in a procedurally-generated purgatory inspired by viking culture. Battle, build, and conquer your way to a saga worthy of Odin’s patronage!

If you like games from the survival genre but don’t always need the pvp that they typically come with (rust, ark, conan etc)…Valheim can have some of that, but it’s clearly a more co operative experience. Feels like a 3d viking Terraria in a way.

  2. Been playing this almost non-stop. One of the best games I've played in a long time. There are a lot of surprising interactions and events in the game that I definitely didn't expect from an early access survival game.

  3. This have been on itch.io for some times.played it about a year ago,and they come long. As a early access i approve what you say Kira. Me and my brother played it coop yesterday and it have alot of content for a early title. This is early access done right! πŸ™‚ If you love exploring, crafting, survival and sandbox this one is for you.

  4. As you would expect with an early access game it has some pretty big flaws.

The world generator could use some work. The first time I played with some friends the world was quite boring. Certain resources like flint were very hard to find because the lack of rivers generated. Then I made a single player world and I had 50 flint in the first couple of minutes.

The boat really depends on the wind, more so than most games. Multiple times I just got stuck in the middle of the ocean because the wind went away. While it makes sense, it's not a fun mechanic to spend 45 minutes sitting still doing nothing.

  5. This game is really bad honestly nothing clips properly the walls will go anywhere but where you want them to go , cant build anything without your workbench beside you cant use the workbench or bed without a roof , when you run it like breaks the ground kinda ? Just gives me anxiety the character isn't even centered properly with the camera the building is awfull mechanics , have fun lol

  6. I watched a stream of this game yesterday. It REALLY reminded me of playing Ark Survival evolved , a mod for that game or just a reskin all without dinosaurs.

  7. I first became aware of this game back in 2018. It was called 'Fejd' then. (Pronounced 'fade')
Looks like they've put a lot into it since. It was a fairly polished game back then, so not surprising it works well today.

  8. Todd Howard was actually talking about this game when he said, "It just works!" Lmao.

I love this gem of a game. From the graphics, which are it's own little boat of afterlife-y and cosmic gravy, to the mechanics of interacting with shit to figure it out. Haha. It doesn't hold your hand, which I like, save for the Raven's occasional drop ins.
Just the fact that it starts you out firmly beneath a freaking Valkryie's talons as its flying through a storm at night, sold it for me. Lol

I could seriously go on and on about this game, and I've only killed the Electric Stag. He's the first boss.. lol.

    Cheers.
