There’s been a nasty World Eating Troll feeding on unsuspecting Viking saves! While Iron Gate have not been able to replicate or find it, they’ve even tweeted out about it!
So while fixing it might take some time, here’s a quick and simple way to back up your world, and re-instate it! It’ll only take a moment!

On PC. Back up one folder to "Valheim". Right-click World folder, Send to -> Desktop (create shortcut).
This will make life a touch easier getting back to that folder on a regular basis 😊

Hello vedui! I want to ask you something, I just rent a valheim server on nitrado, but I'm wondering if you can do a manual backup on it or you can't?
Is there a way to reload a world save from 20mins ago?
My game is saved to the cloud, I can't for the life in me find and files named worlds on my machine.. C:UserssuperdeepAppDataLocalLowIronGateValheim does not exist on my computer..
Great that the Devs don't warn you ingame about it… i didn't know about this and now my World is dead and i have no Backups and now everything is rip i guess or is there any way i can recover it?

There are no actual save files in the same folder only the name of my server / game Danelaw.db.old Danelaw.fwl steam_autocloud.vdf thts it. I have hidden files and folders open.
i replaced the files but nothing returned. i spent 6 hours on this one building in my base last night. i did the F5 -> save. copied the folder to my desktop. this morning the entire building was gone. I never heard of pressing F4 to exit I always make it through the menu by pressing escape and quit or log out
i even tried deleting everything (since i have a backup) but when i run the game it still shows up in the list! scratches head
i tried deleting the newer files and removing the *.old to see if that can helo but nothing works.
Also, my solo world is diff than my personal server world.
PLEASE help me
This pains me. I'm hosting on creeper panel and dont have the restore and backup options. I can find the files to back up manually but how to get the game to restore the previous I don't know.

Mines a little annoying. My world would just reset back to a certain point like when I built my house. So I rebuilt all the other stuff I have I would leave and shut my pc for a few hours and come back and everything will be fine. But the next day my world would go back to that same point when I need to rebuild. It happen three times and and even with backing up and restoring my world would not even show in the worlds list in-game, it would be there in the files just not in-game.

Server needs a save fuction that saves content every so many minutes 10, 15, 20, 30, etc…..
I looked into my games folders and I keep seeing this thing called NEW file and I don't know what it is
Question, My world was deleted but not deleted… like I'm not sure how to explain this but today when I loaded up my world, It appears that I've been set back a few saves. The only thing on my world is my starter base and everything that I've done in the past week is gone. Really weird
