Looks like a more Conan version of Green Hell.
– Regarding repair: some higher level items require higher level workbenches to repair *like black iron axe needs lvl 4 forge to be repaired.
– Regarding swimming: Some items float some aren't. If you die on water, your gravestone floats (you can get it my swimming there or using a ship) but if your ship is broken, ship materials WILL SINK . You cannot normally recover them, except there's a method that sometimes works: landscaping. You can raise ground (and your stuff with it). This mostly works of your ship sinks near shore. You just raise the ground around the wreck, then raise the middle last (because physics can make your items roll deeper). If you had cargo items in your ship they will float on the surface in boxes.
– Regarding food: Most food items can be combined into something when you have a cauldron so that's worth building (costs 10 tin from black forest shores mostly)red berries and b, lue berries can be combined into a jam for better and longer lasting effect. Some meats have later recipe uses, like that leg meat can be combined with the glowy blue plant from the back forest and intestines to make sausages. (one of the best and most easy to make foods). Even the sea serpent meat can be further enhanced by making it into a soup, that's the best food item I found so far in the game. huge boost to health and stamina that lasts for 2400 sec.
– Another tip to the food section: Once you found the vendor (usually in some of the black forest, will show up on the map with a bag icon) you can buy bait and fishing rod. You can use that to catch fish. Depends on the size of the fish, you can get either 1-2-3 fish out of your catch.
– Regarding building: I've not seen it mentioned in many places: building pieces will have a stability indicator. When you build onto something, it will show up as green (stable) orange (low stability) or red (will crumble after a few sec) You can improve stability with columns. Occasionally they snap but even if you get the column close to something that is enough to improve stability around. This will be very important later on with stone structures that are heavy and have 0 stability very fast.
– Hidden treasures: throughout the world you can find stones that are in a shape that reminds you to a ship? Yepp, there's hidden treasure there. Pickaxe the inside of the stone circle until you find your box of jewels and stuff..
– One of the least advertised but crucial elements are honey. Once you find some (in abandoned houses in the Meadows biome) you can unlock brew making. Later on that's required to get into the snowy biome, because you need snow resist brew not to die there. 😀
I have a few more, like how to get a ton of hide and leather without hunting, but I keep them for later videos when you progress into the "fun" biomes 😀
You can put fires inside a house, just build a chimney or put a hole in the roof
