doom guy sure is an interesting character he does have a really well made back story and a bunch of doom lore in the codex entry’s with a story that spans across doom, doom 2, doom 64, doom 2016 and doom eternal which are all very well made games but the charm comes from the very shallow story that is not force fed down your thought like many other games do …

Really glad to see some love for my homie The Rookie and Chief in this video too, he's definitely one of my favourite examples of a silent protagonist. I personally don't mind Master Chief's dialogue in the Reclaimer Saga games, however, and I'm aware I'm missing the point by saying this, because it adds a whole new perspective to the character for me. Chief has been through so much, and that changes him significantly, especially after Cortana's sacrifice to save him in the final moments of Halo 4. Nevertheless, good video, dude. Sorry for this disagreement, it's just something I felt was worthwhile getting off my chest and I might elaborate further in the future.

I love how Doomguy doesn't take shit from anyone (in a good way). Because all you do in a lot of other games is blindly follow other people's orders and be forced to sit through someone talking down to you when you're the one saving everyone's ass. Doom is one of the few games where the player gets the respect they deserve.
