You're unlucky, I only had to afk at my wandering trader farm for about 2 days until I got the mangrove trees. I didn't even get any other saplings before it, which was pretty lucky because I already obtained all of the other wandering trader trades in the older versions of minecraft. I don't play super flat, but I play on a cave style buffet world, so I don't naturally get trees either.
that grind was real and well worth the effort!!

Allay use: raid farm, sort totems as well as potions/saddles
Also, they can be duped in 1.19 in a few days, but since there is no way to obtain amethysts, they are non-renewable on your superflat world.
Also, the cat should named Spaz, after the spazzing pigmen in the bastion you went to.
