Is Outriders Endgame Any Good?

Today we’ll be taking a detailed look at one of the most important aspects of any loot game, the Endgame. Expeditions, Challenge Tiers, and more. Let’s go! This video is sponsored by NVIDIA. https://nvda.ws/3f85pU1 Follow the link to sign up for GeForce NOW at a special discounted rate.

A key element to the longevity of any loot game is the endgame. What’s the process like for collecting gear? Is there interesting and unique loot hunt for? Will there be enough replayability in the levels or variety in character builds? These are all pretty common questions for most loot-based games, and Outriders is no different.

I’ve finished playing through the games campaign, reached the max character level of 30, and have begun the process of End Game myself. Today I’ll be showing you what Outriders Endgame looks like, what there is to do, and giving some of my early impressions from what I’ve seen so far.

Outriders is an upcoming third person RPG Looter Shooter that’s gotten a lot of early comparisons to titles like Destiny, Division, Warframe or Remnant From The Ashes.

The game features 4 classes with unique skills, passives, and playstyles. Plenty of gear to collect as you chase certain stats, traits, and rarities. A wide variety of locations to explore, monsters and bosses to fight. Scaling difficulty progression via world tier system. Character customization. And a fully voiced story campaign.

  1. I might actually purchase the game now based on your critique of the “mods”. I hate when your are just grinding numbers. I like when the gear changes gameplay like ARPG uniques.

  2. It’s on its way to being my second favorite, if not favorite looter shooter. Amazing gameplay, amazing loot, HUGE build diversity and optimization with many different builds feeling perfectly viable(and I’m only level 18), and fun content. The level and mission design is pretty subpar but, fuck it, almost all of these games have that issue.

  3. I literally haven’t been able to connect to the servers at all since launch. I haven’t played a single second of the game. Also, loves the vids, keep up the good work💜

  4. Game is fun, when you can play it.

Graphics are a mixed bag, environments and effects are great, character models are subpar.
Gameplay is solid with controls being decent with occasional sluggish responses at times, I've had no framerate issues on Ultra (3080) at 1440, no stuttering luckily, though I also force dx11 and turned off AA with DLSS on.

I like the diversity of the builds, plus the ability to respec your character at any time etc. The level design is….bad. It's level design theory from 10 years ago, you see chest high walls/boxes, prepare to fight. No overworld (open world as mentioned in the video) just linear hallways of fights.

The dev left out some really common things that are just simply baffling:
    1. The ability to exit the game if the servers aren't up (when you're on the intro "planet" screen). There's no way to exit the game unless you alt+F4 or ctrl/alt/delete and force it closed.
    2. The first intro movie is unskippable, as is several "enemy introduction" cinematics. No clue why they didn't just have it where you can skip those. Plus a LOT of unnecessary cutscenes, I don't want to see my character jump over a damn chasm when zoning out of an area every time.

Overall I think it has potential, I definitely see Square Enix doing what they always do, making this a live service, which a live service doesn't necessarily mean "microtransactions" or monetization, but it originally meant that the game would be further supported via updates. Whether it would be seasons, expansions etc. They really need to leave Azure (it always has issues with stability), fix the basic QoL items and fix stability.

  5. So far I'd say a solid 8.5 out of 10 now all that needs to happen is finding out about the eye of the storm and seeing how the best 3 man squads handle it totally a game to play with others no doubt a good title for the looter shooter I will say this wish there was a hardcore mode totally reminds me of remnants of the ashes

  6. Is it just me or has this game just looked meh since the beginning? Like I'd probably still rather play destiny solely because of the moment to moment gunplay… something about this game just feels bad… it reminds me of anthem (and no that's not because I'm jaded kap)

  7. Seems like the linear layout of the game maps and its repetitive nature is a big complaint by the majority of players. Hopefully Square takes this one in strife and any new content they add they'll shake it up some.

  8. I have been enjoying what I can actually play games keeps kicking me and then not letting me back in even after closing and starting the game so I gave up and I will try again later

  9. one bad thing is the big bosses. i mean that second big boss is just a pure bulletsponge for 15 minutes and ive so far had to do it 5 times cause my game crashed after i killed it every time :/

  10. Server issues aside, I say Squeenix has another hit. From the equipment stats to the synergy between your mods, those stats and the diverse class trees (with the ability to reset at anytime with no cost) and how those can change depending on the weapon type/eqp'd skills, with the ability to rerun areas and quests at lower difficulty beit for farming or friends in order to acquire diverse and plentiful loot so you may do more challenging difficulty, which may be done across 4 very different handling classes, makes this game the best buy in years.

  11. I only played the game for like 7 hours and then it disconnected and when I try to start the game again it keeps saying "Internet connection error" when my connection is 100% fine… anyone else having the same problem?

  12. I've been slapping Storm Whip on literally every AR I get and using the burst fire variant. Hoping to find an Epic AR with natural Fireworks or Weakness III on it then mod Storm Whip III on the 2nd trash mod slot.

  13. as a destiny and diablo player, this mixes the 2 best parts of any good looter style game: a fun and rewarding loop with weapons that are fun as hell to use, and loot that is useful (looking at you, most warlock exotics) and fun to experiment (just look at the builds that people make in diablo 3, it's nuts).
now hopefully we won't end up just dealing with the same problems that destiny ends up with because of lack of strikes/gambit maps/people that give a fuck about pvp on the dev team
