Thank for the info Lazer. I think It would be your personal decision If your trying go the skills route or the gun route. Also they have that achievement where if you kill like 5 elites with your skills ONLY you get a banner logo I think😂😂

Trickster is really the only one it makes sense to prioritize firepower. All the other classes scale off of their anomaly power and skills.
It’s Melee, Skills and Status effects; not Melee Skills and Status Effects.

Hey what class you would play when it come out?
Freeze and ash is considered a crowd Controll status effect, so to speak, it doesn't make sense to spec anomaly power, because by using these status effects you don't deal damage? Am I right?
The base firepower you're talking about isn't always going to be 300, for example mine is 347 at the moment because that's the base power of the gun I'm using then when I change that for a less powerful gun it drops to match that gun's power. Then the additions on top of that are what your armour and skills are providing.
