I love how this fight is both a homage to the beggining of GOW: Ghost of Sparta and also a massive foreshadowing on the end of God of War 3.
In the latter's case, If can be noticed how the ilusional world created by the furies seems to be wrecked in complete chaos: The sun seems to be gone, the world appears flooded (as it happens after Kratos kills Poseidon) and also tornados and thunders have become a common ocurrence. Not to mention the massive whirpool in the middle of all.
