  1. I can't play this game due to not having an Xbox but I thought the concept and story is interesting so I watched it on yt but I needed a thorough explanation for the story since it's confusing and your video did an amazing job of explaining exactly what happened. you earned yourself a sub!

  2. Dude thank you so much for this. Calmly explained, quick and concise. I was watching a streamer play this and he ended up quitting 70% of the way through. Beautiful game, thank you for the explanation.

  3. This helped so much thank you! the only thing I would add is that Francis' family isn't necessarily dead. One of the post cards he mentions that he just doesn't have the courage to actually send them. He's writing them more for himself.

  4. When Thomas called in the beginning, he said 'The light… It's almost gone. It's not dark yet, but it's getting there'. And then in the very end, Maw says the same exact words. That made me think that somehow it was actually Maw drawing Marienne in, and not Thomas at all.

  5. I finished the game and as much as I enjoyed it. I am still perplex on how they decided to end the game. I mean I even came up with a theory that Marianne was somehow able to appear in the spirit world and shoot the Maw. Not sure about the after the credits scene with Thomas though. I know he picks up the pocket watch that his wife gave to him on his 10th anniversary, so not sure how it ended up in the spirit world? Or unless he dropped it along the way to where ever he was going. I know spirit Thomas said that he can't even feel him. So he was somewhere that cuts off the connection.

  6. the ending, she want to shot herself for stop demon but she think her father words, you can't always save everyone, butterfly, it's mean that she can't save problem by only herself (she and her older sister got a half butterfly neckless) but duo power (full butterfly) can win.

  7. Very good summary, no stone unturned and I loved the story BUT https://youtu.be/HYziGjZ645M?t=712 jumps back to the spirit realm? How so? The only missing piece of the puzzle that remains is where is the "real world" Thomas… did I miss the part where he figures out how to transport his "body" self to the spirit realm? I don't think that was clear at all

  8. Ending a long, arduous game with a cliffhanger/sequel bait is BS. The game has no resolution so if they don’t make a sequel, we will never know what happened. IMO they should have given the game a solid ending. They could still make a sequel either way and it would have been more satisfying. Thanks for the explanation. I didn’t get all of the framework you explained.

  9. I liked the game during my playthrough but didn't read every single little letter because it's a crutch and bad form of story telling on the videogame medium. After watching this video and getting a much better understanding of the story I now love the game. It's a real shame they couldn't have done a better job explaining the story to us without all those dumb pieces of paper. Great video!
