Valheim – How to Build a Castle With a Portal Room (Stone Building Guide)

Welcome to my Valheim How to Build a Castle, Stone Building Guide.
I had a lot of requests for a stone build, a castle and a portal room.
I built this fort so I could incorporate a stone build into the docks and try and cover the requests in one big build.
The fort has a large basement for storage, archways with iron gates on the first floor and arrow loops on the top floor so you can defend the base from any angle during events.
The top floor is a portal room, you can connect your other bases to one build at your main base and there is an observation deck in the roof.

I added a bit about creating flat land at the start of the video as that was another thing people were asking about.

The docks are almost complete and then I will move on to some more village houses and the main castle.

This is a How to Build Tutorial for Valheim.

  1. Hope you like the build guys, I added a bit about creating flat ground at the start of the video for the people that have asked.
There are a few good features in this base you could use in your own builds like the spiral staircase and the portal room.
I tried to create some depth to the walls using the double arches, the open archways with the iron gates are like windows or easy access 🙂
I thought having the portal room connected to the port would be good, you can have a travel hub where you can move to your other bases from one place in your main base.

  3. Man i love this game, so far i've build a blacksmith and a boat house with a storage room connected to it, next step is to build docks and a "boat building area" then i might raise the ground in the ocean to make a bay area with a bridge where ships have to go under to reach my harbor ^^ if you can can you make like a stone building in combination with wood for a "main house/mead hall" or update yours with stone.. It's from seeing stuff like this that i get my ideas! Wish i could send you some screenshots of my builds so far.

  4. I do appreciate these build guides so very much, the only thing I dislike is how much of a wasteland my entire map looks farming for their build cost and how there is a total lack of cohesion between the individual buildings… like, these buildings themselves are extremely aesthetic to look at, but seeing them beside each other without any layout planning going on they are more like a random selection of buildings haphazardly dropped beside each other instead of what would even remotely resemble a village. However that's not a criticism of these videos, so it's neither here or there, sorry for rambling, just a comment with my like for the algorithm. 🙂
