Is this the weapon Zovaal and Sylvanas have been waiting for to destroy the World of Warcraft Shadowlands?

  1. Am I seeing a reincarnation of Arthas, within Anduin? I mean they both are/were part of the light. Both had mentors that served the light.

What if Anduin would have been first before Arthas? would Anduin become the vessel of domination and instrument of death for Zovaal.
What if Arthas was now instead of Anduin chained up close Sylvanas? Would they still play out the same or similiar scenario ?

What if Anduin is reincarnation of Arthas-like, but also at the same time, Anduin might have (Void), what Arthas didnt have had inside of him, to which point Anduin might be the successor of Arthas.

And now once Anduin becomes the successor, the vessel of that holds light and potential the void, combining both light n the void, that instrument of life and death becomes the ultimate that go upon light and the void at the same time.

That bascially could make you wield the power of the entire cosmological scale, with light and the void, not just the power of the maw, and/or bastion itself.

  2. Way too obvious for 9.0.*. All this showing of Anduin and talk of "our weapon". There's a misdirect in there, or we save Anduin and force the Jailer to do something extreme. Either way, this isn't what it seems.

Also, stop thinking every damn line is subtext. It's not. Reading too deep.

Edit: Also, this simping thing you have for Sylvanas. What the hell man? That's just sad. At no point, beginning to end, has Sylvanas had any redeeming qualities once she was turned into a banshee.

Edit2: And no, that cutscene does not indicate that Anduin is considering the premise. It's just illustration that you can't argue against two concepts at once (well you can, just not well). If he had made the exact same arguments in reverse order would you say that he thinks the complete opposite of what you said in this video? No.

  3. I am so happy with Sylvanas because she respects Anduin. ^^
It makes me feel so annoyed when people mock him and call him a cry baby, whimp or something else demeaning.
Compassion, faith in other people and brighter futures and being an idealist in the face of harsh reality are strengths. Really powerful ones.
Especially in worlds and situations as the ones in WoW lore.
I find Anduin one of the strongest characters in the game and I admire him for his kindness, his willingness to understand others and the way he shoulders responsibility.
And if Sylvanas is with me on that, I respect her too. 😉
If she starts giving less vague explanations of what exactly she is planning, I am sure Anduin will hear her out and give her point of view sincere thought.
But she would also spoiler all the coming lore for us if she does that. xD
So by all means, stay vague, my lady. 😉

  4. I thought she was going to say “who we are…” because in a sense she was talking about how every choice is made for us and how we don’t get to make our own choices in life or even death.

  5. When she says "So you favour… life, is that it?" I think the "is that it?" was more of a remark than a question, basically remarking that he didn't want to fight for death, but he would for life, and her question was.. what's the difference?

It's clear Sylvanas is trying to gain an ally, more so than a weapon for the Jailor.

  6. I'm going to spitball a bunch of thoughts. Let me know if any of these are implausible!

ON THE GENERAL DIRECTION OF THE PLOT:
-Everything is leading towards a greater confrontation with the Old Gods / void lords
^The Old Gods have been planning their release & to consume the shadowlands as far back as the corruption of Sargeras

^ Y''Shaarj will have returned to the void after his death & is the "seven headed goat who watches from the outside"

^ Defeating the old gods / void lords / shadow may be why the light was willing to go so far as making a deal with death

-Xal'Atath is a powerful old god that was trapped in the blade & is now free in mortal form again
^ Xal'Atath in "Twist the Knife" bargains with N'Zoth to be freed from the black blade
^ N'Zoth demands the blade to remain for his purposes, and then calls Xal'atath his dear friend

-"The boy-king serves at the master's table. Three lies he will offer you" I think is more likely a whisper related to Wrathion, who is now three years old?

^ This could possibly be a double reference to Anduin, but as mentioned Anduin wasn't really doing anything at the time the first lie was told according to Ogmat

^ The "master" would be one of the old gods (N'Zoth? Y'Shaarj?)

    ON SYLVANAS:
"At the hour of her third death, she will usher in our coming" – whisper referencing Sylvanas
^ Her second death was when she committed suicide by jumping on Saronite, where she was brought back by the Val'Kyr

^ Her third death has not yet happened, but it seems like we're leading towards it

-"Her heart is a crater, and we have filled it" from Il'gnynoth is referencing the influence on Sylvanas (and her love for Anduin)

-I think Sylvanas definitely has different plans than the Jailer, but aligning him helps her short term goals

    ON SENTIENT WEAPONS:

-Xal'atath, Blade of the Black Empire literally made Sylvanas smile & her eyes darken when it's presented to her in the lvl 120 quest
    "The Black Blade"

^ She then says that the blade will guide our way to victory, which at the time seemed like the fourth war…..but she was fighting a much bigger war the whole time

  7. I've been saying this for a couple months now. I think either Sylvannis is going to double cross the Jailer, or that, at the very last second Sylvannis will sacrifice herself to save Anduin from the Jailer. I think they're gonna turn her into an anti-hero. Like, oh look, she had our best interests at heart this whole time. She was on that "long game" shit.
And at 16:46. Once again, I have 2 agree with Accolon. I think she Sylvannis says 'love' there as well. Who though, I'm not quite sure. Probably either her voidy sister or Nathanos, if I had to guess.
I also believe that Tyrannde or at least the "Night Warrior" spirit in her will end up being 1 of the next final raid bosses. Great vid. Ty

  8. In Legion we see the Naaru Xe'ra being killed for being literally a fascist , the light is not good, nor is the void bad. but why do they get to choose our paths as mortals or undead, etc? Maybe we could forge our own path?
Maybe this is a reflection of the world as we see it now? We have communism and capitalism, both good in theory, both terribly flawed, and we lack free will in both.

  9. Did anyone note the leaders involved happen to be one for each cosmic force?
    Anduin – light
    Bane – nature
    Jaina – arcane
    Tyranda – void
    Sylvanas – undead
Thrall – fel (he does still have green skin)

  10. Sylvanas didn't draw back from saying "love" … that is too cheesy. She drew back from saying "become" she had no agency in becoming undead. Her 'people' had no choice. Every 'decision' since becoming undead has been forced because she is undead.

  11. I was thinking of picking the Venthyre covenant. But I won’t if the vampires are working with the light? I thought the Venthyre were helping The Jailer? I’m close to choosing a covenant so can anyone yet me know please… if I don’t pick Venthyre then I’m picking Necrolords. Basically I want to be on the same side as the Jailer

  12. It seems as though Sylvanas is capable of sentiment, which is interesting. I wish she had've come to Pandaria with us. Considering it was an expansion ALL about emotions, seeing her response to the Sha – or lack thereof – would've been a really cool thread to pluck, both for character building, and for the story arc. Instead she gets a moment with Lor'themar leading up to the Galakras encounter.

  13. Here's a thought. Maybe Enemy of All doesn't mean Enemy of Everything. Its enemy of all the cosmological forces. Because whether they are native to the shadowlands or not, The Archon & The Winter Queen are serving as the pantheon of death

Its not the first time Blizzard has used a play on words. And Order/Light/Life alliance has a tendency of making us feel like the threats against them are threats to EVERYTHING. It's the ultimate gaslight.

  14. Speculation – The Jailer referring to Anduin as a weapon isn't metaphorical. He is planning on using Anduin's soul to craft a new mourneblade. Some of these weapons (such as Denathrius' sword Remornia) have been made from the souls of powerful entities, and Anduin's connection with the light (and perhaps the void) could make him a perfect candidate.

  15. Anduin is the Luke Skywalker and Jon Snow of World of Warcraft. He will grow up eventually. In fact, Varian became king when he was a kid. During Greymane and Velen's argument, I agree with Greymane. I hate how it took too long for Velen to disagree with the Light's leadership due to how it was Illidan who convinced Velen of the hypocrisy of the Light. Illidan and Sylvanas can get along only on an ideological level, not the methods. I believe the Light is using Anduin in order for the Light to take full control of the Alliance like how the Light used Yrel to take full control over the Draenei and the Mag'har Orc Light, followers. This would lead to a civil war between Draenor Light followers (Draenei & Mag'har Orc Light followers) and the rest of the Mag'har Orcs. This shows that the Light is no different than the Pantheon of Order who is also selfish in a way. I only see the Pantheon of Death (except Denathrius & Zovaal) as the only ones who care for the protection of all mortals due to how they are working hard to keep Zovaal contained in the Maw and they never let souls reborn into Shadowlands species into attacking worlds in the Mortal Realm, unlike other cosmic forces except for the Forces of Life.

  16. I wonder if we had our first view of the Maw when we do the Emerald Nightmare raid. Il'gynoth said "The boy-king serves at the master's table." He may only been talking mostly about the Old Gods, but they speak a thousand truths so why not throw in something to tell us to be wary of what will happen in the future. So he randomly shows us a red swirl and when I look at it, as someone with an artistic background, I see similarity between how it looks and how the Maw (as seen from Oribos) appears when you look at it Revendreth. Il'gynoth was giving us a glimpse of what awaited us. The Emerald Dream is the opposing force to Shadowlands according to the cosmological map, it becomes the Emerald Nightmare when Old Gods corrupt it. The "corruption" in Shadowlands is by Light. Either Emerald Nightmare is a direct response to what the Light is doing to Shadowlands OR the Light is doing in Shadowlands what the Old Gods did. Old Gods are aligned with Void and in one of the bits of text said in Bastion they say: "The Void's strength is sobering. To be able to crash an anima gate from the sky…" I think in his own unique way that Il'gynoth was warning us about "meddling with the affairs of Shadowlands" and he probably knew what was going to happen there… my verdict so far: the Void made the Arbiter sick, and this corruption caused the Maw to begin happening. We see the Maw as it was just before the infection happened. The black swirly stuff around the Maw reminds me of every iteration we've seen of what Void looks like in game (easiest to see with a shadow priest or a void elf). Also I think the corridors from Oribos to each zone are suspicious to say the least. Just a few thoughts I have developed in recent weeks, and not trying to prove any theory with this stuff… 🙂

  17. Her phrase seems tricky.
You have a choice to consider. Join us willingly. Or be made to serve.
She is not being specific about "be made to serve" only who to join. So made to serve can just mean another path to someone else that will not give him a choice.

  18. I think sylvannas has long looked at Anduin as her naïve foil, and convincing him would prove her point of view right. Until she can, though, I suspect there’s a tinge of doubt deep in the back of her mind that may be growing as she spends time with the jailer.
