as always it's too much gear dependent,
I don't know if it's bad since the game pushes you to get the best gear to stay competitive, but I feel like it's a lot of work for less damage compared to the other specs

Been playing assassination this whole patch so far and it doesn't feel bad at all. With the correct conduits eg. Lethal poisons or well placed steel and matched with a good legendary, it will definitely perform in single target raid damage.
I think all the spec needs is something to sustain slice and dice without using combo points. For example have garrote casted from stealth apply slice and dice buff, with any finishers to refresh slice and dice eg. Envenom or rupture.
The spec would then feel so much smoother.

I play only assassination. This week I 2v1ed two warriors in WSG (50-59 bracket, as 57 lvl). I think it will be fine… I am just afraid to ding the 60 (Torghast seems not the most rogue friendly thing) and seriously considering locking it at lvl 59 to just have fun in BGs.

It needs the legendary from this weeks Torghast. It's on the low end of tuning because the brought back Zoldyck's Legendary. Having an execute is going to make them feel so much better.
