The Xbox Series X has one of the best services attached to it, and it’s something PlayStation 5 doesn’t have. Game Pass is a constant revenue source for Xbox this next generation.

Will Sony’s Ps5 get a service like Game Pass or will this be exclusive to the Xbox Series X.

  1. Great, over 18 million subscribers. MS is doing better than a AAA game. If it sells 3 million copies, we call it a hit. What do you call something that is has 6 more business and is still growing.

  2. Gamers: get what they love, lots of games! Cheap!

Developers: get security through funding to produce their games, and then sell it afterwards.

Microsoft: Grows Game Pass, makes money. Invests Even More!

    Win for everyone!

  3. There are a ton of games that I’ve played and enjoyed thanks to gamepass, the medium being one. I certainly hope it’s beneficial for developers because from the consumer side it’s fantastic. I still feel comfortable buying the games I know I want and I get to try a bunch of games that I wouldn’t have otherwise for a really fair price. I’d probably stop playing games altogether before I’d unsubscribe from gamepass.

  4. I’ve been playing playstation since playstation 2. I bought an Xbox when this fckn pandemic started. Game pass is the best thing I’ve experienced in a console. I was excited af when Microsoft announced that ea play was coming to game pass. It seems like it will take me a while to go back to Sony even though I like both now.

  5. Sega will not be bought by Microsoft. As long as Sega/Atlus most popular franchise Persona, won't release on Xbox, an acquisition by Microsoft won't happen. The newest Persona game is releasing right now and releasing on all Platforms other than Xbox. It's on Steam, Nintendo, and as always on PS4. No Xbox release in sight.

  6. Sony doesn't really have an answer to Game Pass. And every moment that Sony holds back, more money goes to Microsoft to buy more game studios. 18 million subscriber boost in less then what 4 months? from where they were. It's only going to go up because of Xbox and X-cloud on Phones, PC's, Tablets, The Consoles themselves, I was playing Yakuza in my car lol Sony can't say Exclusive for long as they see PC as a more money option. But Microsoft is leading by example.

  7. It's good to see devs and publishers speaking up about the benefits of GP. I don't use it as I buy all of my games. That is just me.

Who cares whether someone doesn't like the service? Why does all the negativity need to stop? The service is going to thrive and do well regardless.

  8. What GamePass and Netflix and Spotify all really show is that libraries were well and truly ahead of their time. Every media except radio which has always been free has had a subscription service: books, films, eBooks, TV, music and now games. The only major form of media that's later to the party than games to become largely taken over by subscription services is theatre and honestly the word "major" was used pretty loosely there. If we're bringing an analogy to TV then game pass really is the Netflix of gaming because it is largely third party with a few first party killer apps and so is Netflix; EA Play and Uplay are really more analogous to something like Disney+ or HBO Max, still a strong proposition but not the main event and with Game Pass getting EA Play and probably more to come it's clear that the Game Pass model is good for more than just consumers and Devs of individual games.

  9. I think that gamepass is great and is definitely changing the landscape of gaming. For £10.99/$14.99 with access to well over 100 games, it certainly does offer tremendous value for money. With new games being priced at £65/$70 dollars this new console generation on the PS5, I cam definitely see a lot of people and families making the switch to the Xbox/PC/X-Cloud eco-system.
