Microsoft didn’t just buy Bethesda and Zenimax because of the games they could make for the Xbox Series X. There’s also great software game engines that could change the way Xbox makes games.
id Tech 7 is one of the best game development engines in the world, and Xbox owns that now. Sony Ps5’s massive advantage of having great software is something they’ve leveraged for a long time.
Now Bethesda and Xbox are able to push the hardware of the Xbox Series X with these new development tools.

Xbox is making wave that are reshaping the industry. It's amazing what they are getting done with adding the studios, get gamepass full with all these great games( also now adding Outriders day one) and the boost mode. I'm really ready to support (almost) whatever xbox has up their sleeves.

I could see the next Gears being made in id Tech if it hasn't already started development with UE5. As for Halo, nah. They made a brand new engine specifically for Halo. It's really cool to think that 3 of the most iconic FPS franchises are now under the same roof. The amount of shooter expertise within xbox now is insane.

I'm trying out the Outriders demo and it feels like Gears of War meets Borderlands. It's not my cup of tea but nice that they did the demo and that it's coming to Game Pass. Re: Bethesda, I think they may be able to jazz up future Xbox presentations, especially big E3-types (I hope that stays a thing).

I know that Unreal Engine is up to have a great generation, but the idea that Id tech engine can be build around Xbox core hardware and be exploited to the maximum in unique ways is mind blowing!
